How to minimize apple fail on new app?

I am new to BT and created my first app (still in production). I am using the Custom URL plug to call in secure HTML web pages, that will have links to a secure web form for the user to fill out. There will be approximately 18 forms housed behind a secure firewall and all form processing will be handled by the secure server. The app will only be a vehicle to pull up the forms, so the user can fill out and submit an order remotely. There are no money transactions, as the order just indicates products, product attributes with check boxes, radio buttons, or text boxes that the user fills out. Basically, it is an information gathering tool. I am having a developer design the secure web application and will put some $$ into the programming of the back end system. Does anyone see any issues if the app would fail for iOS or Android???

Android will have no problem. I imagine if it comes across as more of a business contact and information app you might have better luck with iOS. They really like interactive and artsy stuff. I am having major problems getting a successful Android app through in iTunes. -Shane

Is there anyone at Android or Apple that can review what we have prior to me spending the $$ on the programming?

I would put it out to the community here. People are great and will be able to give you input and ideas. You shouldn't have problem with Android. -Shane

Android shouldn't be a problem at all, since there is no real review process (at least no feature review process that I can tell). Apple will probably have an issue because it sounds like your entire app is a series of web page calls. They figure you can do that just as easily through a mobile browser, so there's no reason to create an app for it. And, to be honest, they're right. You could easily create a web app that essentially links to the web pages, and bypass the store completely. And Apple would be OK with that. Apple loves integration of native iOS features, and interactivity that is engaging and encourages the user to return often. Also consider that your app user will need to be online at all times, because of the dependence of the URLs. Mark

Excuse my ignorance here...How do I bypass the apple store yet get it recognized by apple? We were hoping to use the Apple store as an easy way for consumers to find the app.

You can't bypass the Apple store and have any recognition by Apple. The only way to get it distributed as an "official" iTunes app is to have it published via iTunes. There are other ways to distribute it, but they either involve jailbreaking the device or using ad hoc distribution, which limits the number of installs you can. In essence...you're gonna have to stick with iTunes! Mark
