An edit button

I wish the HTML or Custom HTML/Text plugins would have an edit button. I cannot make plugins, because I cannot write codes (I hope one day I can). I than would add such a button. The Notepad Feature plugin has one. It is great!

Howdy, Thanks for the props on the Notepad Feature plugin! I appreciate it very much. For some plugins it makes sense to have an edit button, and for others it doesn't. It really depends on the content you are trying to display. I'm not sure that I would want people editing content that I was providing them via, for example, and HTML screen. But, if you do, you could always use the Custom URL screen and link to an online wiki. That would give people the ability to create and edit information directly in the app. Mark

The Notepad plugin is designed to allow user input, so it has an 'edit' button. The HTML plugins are designed to 'display' output only, so there is not an edit function available. The nature of HTML is more for display than for User document editing. You might try working on a copy of the Notepad plugin to expand it slowly, as you learn. Cheers! -- Smug

Thanks, for the answers. The app has a form included. It is an accident report form. So the users should be able to put informations in this form. I could not find a way to ajust it in a word document and the same is in a custom Url text. But I have not enough experiences yet. Do you know an answer for this? Bye

I'd use an HTML form. In that sense, it would be suitable for form submission. It won't display an 'edit' button, but it will behave as traditional HTML forms on the web. You can have the HTML form either submit field values using a 'mailto' solution, or you can connect it to a server running PHP or other scripted host. Cheers! -- Smug

If you're just starting out in HTML, I seem to find the tutorials at www.tizag.com to be worth reading. They have tutorials on HTML, PHP, MySQL, and many of the 'side technologies' that apps use. Cheers! -- Smug
