Source Code Error on prepare package for download

Hi Everyone, I am getting the following error after choosing to "prepare package for download" in the "download source code" section of my buzztouch self hosted server v2.1.8. This goes for ios and android. I have done this many times before, most recently 1 month ago, but never faced such an issue. It's new. Nothing has changed on my hosting as I know. Please inform me of any solutions.... Something Went Wrong. There was a problem parsing the JSON result? Show the error message so I can try to figure out what happened! //COMMENT: and then by clicking the link to see the details we get {"result":{"status":"success", "message":"The project was packaged successfully."}} Oops, a PHP error was trapped. File: Unknown Line: 0 Message: Unknown: Unable to find the wrapper "compress.bzip2" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP?

I have noticed the source code packaging works differently on different browsers. On my box with Snow Leopard it will not work. But on my new system running Mountain Lion it packages and downloads with no issues. I thought this was a server issue but I think it's really a browser incompatibility issue. Does not seem to work on any Windows boxes I tried running IE 8/9 or the latest Chrome.

It's hit or miss with me sometimes, and I haven't found a pattern with it yet. On my server I use Network Solutions running Linux Self Hosted BT v2.1.8 I use a Macbook Pro, OS X 10.8.3 with Chrome v 25.0.1364.172 (latest att) I 'usually' don't have a problem. But sometimes I get the same thing. And once I get it, it doesn't matter how many times I 'package' it; it's not coming down. Then I switch to Safari, which usually gives no problems. But 'most' of the time Chrome works for me, with either an iOS or Android package. Cheers! -- Smug

Ok so I just tested on a virtual machine windows seven using chrome. Also on my Macbook Pro on Lion OSX with Safari and again with chrome. All packaging just fails with the above error. My control panel is 2.1.8 and hosted on Linux. I tried more than a dozen times, yet never it's never successful. Any other ideas? Thnx.

If you can run Lion on your box then why not just upgrade to ML? It's a $20 upgrade but you'll need it to run the latest Xcode. I just had to upgrade all 3 of my Hackintosh boxes for this reason. The only box I have seen the packaging and downloading work on is a ML running the latest and greatest safari. I never used Lion, I went from SL to Mountain lion. It fails for me on all Windows systems I tried as well. It IS packaging the project sucessfully - if you FTP into your server you'll see the .zip file in your files/temp directory. you can pull that down and use it, the code is good. What kinda virtual boxes are you running? I love virtual servers :)

Oh ATRAIN! That was a sinister smile I saw when you mentioned your love for virtual servers!! Did anyone else notice?! Haha... I'm using Virtual Box (being free and lightweight) for now, but I am looking into going PARALLEL... maybe in a couple months if needed. Thanks for the tip on the file existing on my server. I'll check it out. The 20 bucks is not the issue. I was waiting for a couple of my apps to pass the apple review but it's taking more than I thought. I figured it would be safer to upgrade a wee later. I'm still sorting it out with apple. So what do our other fellow buzztouchers do? I doubt they're all on Mountain Lion.

I noticed... I just thought *all* of Atrains smiles were sinister, lol! :) Cheers! -- Smug PS, I like Parallels; nice package. But when it came crunch time, VMWare was what I went with because at the time (and maybe still...?) VMWare could add multiple 'virtual' network devices, which I needed to cluster virtual servers. Check the features vs price. Both are outstanding.

I just snagged a refurb MacBook air for a great price. I think my first piece of real Apple Hardware I've ever owned. It came loaded with SL. I upgraded it to ML and really contemplated splitting the drive and running Win 7/XP or 8 on there via Boot Cramp..... But I've gotten so used to the MAC OS finally that I decided to leave it be. The SSD drive in there is mint. Finally a machine that launches the Android emulator in acceptable time. Even the quad core Sandy Bridge Hackintosh I recently built pails in comparison to how fast the Air runs Eclipse, AVD. I'm gonna test Back Track 5 running off a SD Card /USB next when I get some time....

How do you like the SSDD? I would suggest getting Parallels or VMWare rather than running boot camp. You'll find running both OS's simutaneously to be very attractive. Cheers! -- Smug

Love the SSD. Amazed how much of a kick it is for the Android emulator. I waffled for a bit and really wanted an i5/i7 MBP, but other devs said the SSD was a better call - and I gotta agree. Has really allowed me to progress on that platform since I'm not staring at the Android logo for 5 min between builds now. I've got no shortage of boxes at my disposal, plenty of other places to run stuff besides OSX. I do want to see it run Back Tracks tho from the SD card when I get time. What are you developing on?

I have an old 2010 MacBook Pro that I'm using. Trying to decide whether to dump the CD Rom for an additional hard disk. I bought a 256GB SSDD for a windows machine I use to build my Maps on, but I feel it's wasted. I'm leaning towards putting a conventional drive in it, and yanking the SSDD for the Mac... Cheers! -- Smug

I'm on a core i5 Macbook Pro 2012 with 4GB RAM. Has a conventional hdd and no ssd for now. But if you tell me the difference is really visible then I might look at the other options I might find. I agree with you Smug, running a windows 7 on the mac simultaneously is really fun. I ditched the idea of bootcamp because of it. I can use IDM and the likes which don't really have MAC equivalents.

I hadn't noticed but now it looks like I'm getting this just after the last } in the JSON data in my self hosted cp 2.1.8. It's messing my config data up. <div style='border:1px solid red;padding:10px;margin:10px;background-color:#FFFFFF;'>Oops, a PHP error was trapped.<hr>File: Unknown<br/>Line: 0<br/>Message: Unknown: Unable to find the wrapper "compress.bzip2" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP? <div>
