Spash-screen image won't align the right way

In the splash-screen of my app I want to use the same image as in the menu. This way I thought the background would always be the same. So, I have 2 image-files with the same dimensions and set them up in the different screens. Both are the same dimensions and are set to align "bottom-middle". In the menu this works, but in the splash-screen it won't. I have the feeling none of the different settings of the alignment will work, like the screen is only set as "center" or something like that. This way the background will flip in the visuals when the menu opens and that's not what I want. Any thoughts about how this is possible? Is the splash-screen able to align in a different way? The background will display while loading... like a splash screen.
