iOS errors - crashing on iPad...

I have a new app, been working on for a while for a customer. Had some issues on the Android side that we got worked out, now have a problem that is essentially crashing the device. The app is about 95 PDF screens with both simple and menu-with-image menus. It works great for a while but my customer trying to do his best to be sure everything is right... After clicking through about 40 of the PDF screens the app stops working, the screen goes blank. Debug console in Xcode not showing an error. The device console shows what starts as a CoreAnimation: failed to map error and CoreAnimation: missing mack layer.... Anyway, once it throws the first one the app is toast. Once it does that the device won't run anything, like it's taken all the memory and won't release it. Killing the app doesn't help. It takes a reset or restart for it to function again. The test device is a iPad 2 with 6.1.2, the customer's device is a iPad 3 with 6.1.2. My iPhone 5 with 6.1.2 doesn't have the problem apparently. Yikes. Thanks in advance! Tim

This happened to me with word docs. When I was testing, I would just hammer through them as fast as I could just to be sure they all loaded. I have over 200 word docs. It seemed to me that it was a memory problem on the iPhone i was using. What I did was just go through the screens slower and it was ok. Dont know if we had the same problem but I hope it works for you. Try going through the app as a customer would. From menu click he doc, wait, click back, wait, click the next doc etc. Dave

Well, that's the root of the problem. The customer is an officer of a well known, well respected company that doesn't take suggestions very well. The fact that he can't flip through all those pages even though nobody will ever actually use the app that way... anyway, need to figure out a way to force the device to clear it's memory better, like a System.gc on Android. My mistake, which I will never do again, was setting him up with a TestFlight account to beta his app. Should've stuck with screenshots. Live and learn... this is going to be an expensive lesson.
