Embeded audio in eclipse

IS there a specific place I should put my embedded audio files? I mean, a certain folder in the BT folder I imported into eclipse? I put it into assets but when I click play I just get "please wait..... video may take moment to load..." forever!!!! thanks

Hi, The audio files should go into the /assets/BT_Audio folder. What format is it in and where are you trying to call it from?

Hi @Golfba11, Do you actually see your .mp3 files in your Android project? Here are some tips for the AT53 plugin. Maybe you need to make sure it's being stored to the SD card. http://www.buzztouch.com/plugins/discussion.php?tid=D55399B2AD0B08885593FCD&pid=3C06F75263AE92A0B802F44&searchInput=search...&sortColumn=PT.modifiedUTC&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=1

Can you see in Logcat the correct file being called?

Sorry I've not used that plugin so not sure how much I can help. I had a look at the plug in page and see that you can add files straight to the app or call from the website. The only thing I can suggest is you check where you are looking for the file - ie. If you've specified just the filename or the URL. If its the filename you need to add them to the /assets/BT_Audio. If its a URL then confirm its looking in the correct place. With regards to what files it can play best check with the plugin author. Sorry I can't be of more help

It looks more like you don't have your filenames filled in your control panel so the Plugin knows which /mp3 file to play

It's as if the config.txt doesn't have the filename properties to call the .mp3 Does your Config.txt file contain the .mp3 filenames?

My Pleasure, Yes, there should be .mp3 names for each of your files in the config.txt Are you refreshing your Emulator or Device to see control panel changes? With Video and Audio I usually like to test on Devices because of the funkiness of the Emulator. Thanks for supporting Buzztouch and sporting that Member badge!

This is the only part of the config.txt that mentions the AT53 plugin I am using.... it doesnt show filename anywhere with 47-0412.mp3 (name of my audio file) "BT_screens":[ {"itemId":"0B1E1F5967E95FA0609E662", "itemType":"At53_video_player", "itemNickname":"47-0412", "navBarTitleText":"47-0412", "backgroundColor":"#000000", "videoDescriptionColor":"#FFFFFF"},

Android file naming rules: you cannot use the dash -, you only can use letters (from a to z), numbers (0 from 9) and underscores _ So you should replace "-" by underscores. Try fixing one of the file names and see if it works

If the file sizes are 10-20megs you may need the Device to test on. The Emulator is troublesome in this area. Keep us posted. That plugin is working for many. Gotta be something simple. Talk soon! ian

I use the AT 53 video player, it is great for videos but I don't believe it is meant for audio files. I found on one test device it definately would not play an mp3 - I had to convert an mp3 audio to an mp4 video to make it play.

Hmmm... I was told mp3 works on this plugin=/ So how did you convert to mp4? Handbrake? Will that make the file size bigger?

Ian, It still doesn't work.... just has same "loading" notice... Is there not another plugin that would work? AlanMac seems to think that AT53 Plugin wont play mp3

Hi Golfba11, it does work, put your .mp3 files in the BT_Video folder not the Audio folder. should be good to go

Just to clarify, the device I tested audio that did not work runs android 2.2, quite old now, so that may have been the problem. Best to ping a mail to atrain53 who wrote it, to clarify the plugins limits. Glad you got it going.
