Live in Play and App Store

Mentioned the iOS version a week or so ago but have a new app out in Play and App Store. App Store: http://www.bit.ly/WyJuZp Play: http://www.bit.ly/Zah6sW Links above if you fancy a peek, free of course. Already working on updates but any feedback is appreciated, device issues etc. Have already found a few dead links and poor writing / formatting. Will let the folk that paid for it know it is live in the AM. Doesn't officially launch until Monday but what the heck. iOS has custom map pins, shake feature and then the standard sort of app fayre. Android has shake but no custom pins as yet. Playing with an augmented reality screen for folk to use when they are downtown and want to know what is around them. Will be a v1.1 update. Gallery will also change in the next update but had to put something out. Both have realtor listings which I think works well. Basic enough app all in, hard to make a realtor app sexy but does have some niceness to it. Love it on the iPad but Android needs some work...... Quality 5 star reviews (that don't sound like my mammy wrote it) get a Christmas card and a big hug at the next meetup. Peace MacApple Ps This post will self destruct in t minus 24 hrs.

Hey MacApple I grabbed the iOS one last week. It really is nice. First BT app I have seen using the shake. I will gladly trade you a five star review for a small favor....? (Direct message sent)

Really impressed with the Android version @MacApple. Works great on Droid. Still gotta check out all the screens. Did you use different layout folders for device sizes? Always impressed when an Android app mimics and IOS app so well:) Cheers!

Hi MacApple, nice one. I particularly liked the icons and the use of transparency against the photo for the menus - gives the whole thing a nice elegance. I loaded both versions, (looks like one core build) both working nicely, no crashes spotted yet on my 3GS or ZTE Blade with 2.2. A small thing, but I found the text pages more readble on my droid phone. Physical screen size is a little bit smaller compared to my 3GS, but the fonts seemed to be a little larger, the margins a little smaller and overall, I preferred reading the text on my droid (which rarely happens). On the maps, I'm interested to know how you loaded the map data. Do you load the map pins from file, or did you type all the entries in through the control panel? Alan

@AlanMac - Cheers buddy. Funny you say that about the font size. It's the first time I've prefered Android as well. Will change in next update on iOS hopefully. It is actually two seperate apps believe it or not. There were going to be different features in both so built two side by side while sharing some common data. The map data is all in the CP. Rather than load from a file I wanted the client just be able to login and add remove as and when required. Figured it was simpler for them this way. Was a bit of extra work but..... Thanks again buddy, off to start updating it!

It must have taken days to load all that map data (twice)!

Annoying!! He's up and down, house trained but in need of constant attention which gets aggravating at times! Getting there, thanks. How about yours?

It’s really beautiful @MacApple. Congratulations on a tremendous job. I love the layout and the artwork in particular. I downloaded it on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and I had no problems navigating through it. What did you use to make the main menu? Is this something you devised yourself or did you base it one one of the BT plugins? And the artwork - it is so attractive. Did you do it yourself? I can’t think of anything to improve it really unless you wanted to put in a video welcome message from the mayor or some other personality who represents Louisville. The best of luck with the launch - I am sure it will be a hit.

@Dervalo - Thanks so much! May well do the video suggestion. Good call. Out in garden enjoying spring and not being stuck staring at computer. Really appreciate the feedback, thank you!

Great app! Love the menu images with transparent backgrounds. Can you share your shake code? That is brilliant! Thanks Chris

The app is great. Five start rating is in. Is there an info screen that tells of you, the developer?
