Location Map data from File - Android anyone?

Has anyone managed to load location data from a url on android?. ~I can get maps to work, I can get external data to load from file on IOS, but not android, just wondering if anyone else has ever had this working?

Did you ever resolve this AlanMac? I'm interested in creating a multi location map which references a file on my web host for the list of location entries. I'd like to do it for both iOS and Android (but Android first). Is there a write up or some clues anywhere of how to get it working on iOS?

I tried this again recently, using the latest BT. It sort of works on Android, but I get a spinner that doesn't go away. Works fine on IOS. There are writeups in the forum and some tools from Smugwimp I believe. And this post may get you on track http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=2E440354A31B7C361CB2474&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=1

I think I understand the process now. Would you mind clarifying for me? I need a .txt file hosted somewhere (webspace or dropbox) which holds the JSON data for the page. The best way to generate this JSON would be to create some entries in my map on the CP and then copy paste the JSON data to the text file and add more entries following the same format? Then point the page URL in CP to the newly created .txt file on dropbox?

Spot on. That is exactly how I did it and I also hold the txt file in the files area of my control panel for convenience.

That's great, I'm glad I got my head round that one. Thanks for your guidance :-)
