iphone unavailable

Testing an app with my devices, using latest versions of all software. Plugged in my iPad air, Xcode recognized it and loaded it onto the ipad and ran it. No problem. Then plugged in my iphone 6 and it does not appear on the list of devices. There is a greyed out item called ineligible devices and under it is listed iphone (unavailable). Went into devices window and it says it could not find Developer Disk Image. What does this mean? Thanks.

MacApple, The link you sent me talks about how to hand this if a beta was downloaded first. I didn't, just downloaded 7.0.1 directly. Any ideas? Thanks. Stevek

One thing I've seen Googling is that Ios 9.1 which i upgraded to today with the iphone only may be a culprit. I'm no upgrading the ipad until this is figured out.
