Making app with youtube content

Hi, Just wondering is that OK if I create a simple app which contains video from youtube? is there any issue with google or Apple? Thanks

No, however it really depends on the content, if its music videos from well know artists it may be an issue.

Hi @nelaye, I echo what @Dragon007 said and also would add to make sure about copyrights/infringements. Yes youtube is basically an open source site, but you can run into issues there. LA

thank for the super fast reply. does google will review the content first when you submit it to store? If yes, then I think that the only way we know which content have restriction. am i right? sorry if this question is too NOOB THanks

Hi @nelaye, With the fast turnaround on getting an App into Google market, the review process is unclear to me, but I doubt it. With that being said, Google does review your App after submission but when is also unclear. LA

I want to share content of fishing which concentrate one type of fish(sailfish). for example this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLkRSTbWRG8

I have six apps in the Play Store for more than a year and all of them take videos from YouTube extensively. So far I did not have any problem with these apps -- nobody yelled at me for "stealing" or anything like that. YouTube begs you to embed their videos into your site and apps are no different than sites, after all.

hold on. does the video from youtube will be cache to user phone if they watch it online? if yes, then I need to make sure the size is not to big :(

Hey the video wont be cached,but that would be awesome , you can try my and atrains youtube plugin,to stream stuff from youtube in efficient way,i also have an app which streams full length movies from youtube ...search for com.reloadedmovies on google play...so google play + youtube = :)
