Hi all thanks for the video and for all your help... I am trying to get my first app going from buzztouch... yet I thought that Buzztouch may help me for sure I hope someone would... I was wounding if anyone may know or have a fix for the error log, I keep having.... I have done everything the same way on videos and I am still getting this in my src/BT_screen_map.java i just keep getting that red x next to it .....driving me up the wall...lol I must be doing something wrong but I cant figer it out....could anyone please help me. anything would be great.my email is [email protected].... I am trying to go through any video that I can find but have not got there yet.... looking forward to hearing from you all

Need the error specifics to diagnose the problem. Probably sonething easy if that's the only place you have red x's.

For which version are you compiling? With 2.2 there should be no problems. After downloading, change the name of the app through right click > Refactor > Rename. This is mandatory now, wasn't always so, but now it is. Also do a Project > Clean. Also do right click on the name of the project, then Use Android Tools > Fix Project Properties. Do you have all the jar files that may be needed for the project? With right click > Properties > Java Build Path check what you have in Libraries and/or Order and Export tabs. All should be checked. If everything fails, create a new workspace, import the files that you have downloaded from BT and do all of these procedures before you try to compile the program. An image of your errors in Eclipse would be handy for us to see.

@Websitez- You are getting this error because you have not set the api level to Google API Level 8. Remember its Google API and not Android API.

Dusko, you are the man!!! I have also spent hours tonight trying to figure it out. I use the latest Eclipse and Java version, and the flow is a bit different than it shows in the tutorials. Basically, I reduced from 102 errors!!! to none following your suggestions. Thank you very much!!! For Websitez, thats exactly what I did. I hope it helps: right click > Refactor > Rename right click > Properties > Android > choose the lowest Google API right click > Use Android Tools > Fix Project Properties Now will try to compile. Wish me luck :) One more question, please: what's the difference (in the Native App Launching plugin) between Native maps and Google maps? Hi again, My SDK manager has downloaded until API level 11, not 8, but that seemes to be fine (error free)... The problem is that I cant find a way to create a AVD which is not API 17. Thats the only option I get no matter what device I choose. Any idea? Thanks a lot!

Seems you have not downloaded all that is available in the SDK. To download it all, it will take some 5 gigs or more and may long for dozens of minutes or even hours, depending on the speed of your connection. So, visit the SDK manager from Eclipse, download and wait. Next time you start Eclipse, you will have all those Android versions at your fingertips. By the way, you should visit the SDK manager from time to time, because new version constantly appear. And do not delete anything, you may need to download it again! Also, when you create a new device, choose a device that was shipped with the your target version of Android. Some versions of Android are for tablets only, so it may not suite you in general.

Hi all thank you so much for getting back to me so quick... I am a learner and it takes me some time to get it all in so I'll try this tonight and let you all know .... thanks again I hope I can return the favier back. all i know so far is that I do have 2.2 running and I did change the name but my have to try again .... I panicked and removed the eclipse I had to start with and now downloading another eclipse that helpfully will work for me and once that done ill be following the directions above.... if and more you can think of , is much appreciated... oh and the error is "Launching new configuration'has encountered a problem An internal error occurred during "Lunching New_configuration"" thanks again, websitez

Hey @Website, Since the new plugin update, you need to run Google 11, 3, not 2.2 anymore. This should solve your problem. LA

If you are downloading a new version of Eclipse, you may go for the one made by Google themselves, from this link: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#win-bundle I have tried at least four or five versions of Eclipse, and this one works the best.

I have downloaded the latest version Java SE 7..of java jdk but in the video I notest that he just downloaded the java 6u31 do i have to use that one....

However, do not download them as they are not functioning any more. Currently, I am rewriting them with Buzztouch, and the Reiki app was just the first in that row. Another one of these "reloaded" apps is due tomorrow and so it goes...

I have done what you all have tried very patiently to explain to me.... and you all are great I cant thank you enough for this.... it is finally working ... thank you so much all... the only thing I have noticed is that the map is not coming up on my emulator is that just my computer or is it something to do with the avd/sdk... I don't know but I am so happy I got this far... thanks again all ....its a community I am to be prod of taking part with....
