Application directory not existing in self host website

I just got my self hosting website up and running.... However, I can't create a new app... I read that the app I started on Buzztouch website doesnt transfer over and I will need to start again.... However when I click "Create new app" it says "The Applications directory does not exist? Contact a system administrator for help. " Also, just to check, is the self host website supposed to be bland looking and not as organized as the buzztouch website???

The Self Hosted BuzzTouch site looks pretty much like the conventional BuzzTouch site. Maybe you're missing some files? The 'applications' directory is located within the 'files' directory... If this is your first install, you should have unzipped your 2.1.8 directory, and copied all the files to your desired web root directory, which would have placed the applications directory. Did you copy everything? It sounds like a new install... did you follow all the directions? you might also want to check out GoNorthWest's tutorials in Self Hosted installation; he always has good pointers... Hope this helps, but stop by again if you're still having problems. Cheers! -- Smug

YA this is a new install... I followed GoNorthWest's tutorial... But I just noticed that when I open the 'files' folder in my FTP database that there is no files inside of it.... I am gonna try it again...

Cancel that... I just downloaded 2.1.8 zip and I got everything from there already on my database... the 'file' directory is empty and doesn't have an app directory
