It is not possible to say: this is good and this is bad. Sometimes basic functionality made in reliable fashion may be the best thing for a user. Sometimes apps worth 100,000 $ may be done in fashion good for nothing. Also think further than just business. From the perspective of kids exposed to Angry Birds and similar goodies for many hours a day, who does benefit? Definitely not the kids. They spend thousands of hours in vain, loosing literature, learning to be just consuming monkeys. This is called the market then and the kids grow to very delicate individuals. Apple is reviewing, it means filtering the quality at the very starting point twice: You need to learn how to code sign it, which means you need to understand english quite well and master written text to the extent where you can understand deliberately very complicated process. In the second instance, there is a reviewer appointed. Question is what is Google doing to get on par with Apple? Nothing, just copying some processes. Setting the parameters very low, so that if you understand some English, you will pass. I guess they wanted to claim numbers in Android Market, therefore they set the developer licence to 1/4 of what is Apple asking for. The same is happening to Microsoft. I personally know a person who was donated their most costly (Nokia) smartphone for putting together 3 apps. Great motivation! What is the quality of that stuff? I dunno...
