Problem Downloading Self-Host BT

HI, I just became a BT member this morning. I created a website so I could self-host. When I got to the part in the install where I was told to enter mydomainname.com/buzztouch/install I did so…. However I entered all my info and still it didn't allow me to go… I contacted GoDaddy (my hosting provider) and made sure I had all the right passwords and usernames for the databases… still not working I used Firezilla... there was not /public_html file so I just placed mine under /private... but that shouldnt changed anything, should it? I looked at both tutorials on BT but mainly used the Firezilla one... Suggestions?

Hi @Golfba11, welcome! A couple of things to check: You mention setting up a website... that's not really required. Did you mean host? As long as you have the host server, the install will create the Buzztouch console and web application pages you'll be using. Did you unzip all the files from the BT .zip file and FTP them to your server? You'll need to find the path to the install on your server. It seems like you have the database stuff sorted out, so that good. It can be tricky, but as long as mySQL is on your server and you have the DB name and user info, you should be fine at that step. I did all that... Just to confirm, the Database name and username are the same.... In my SQL it says they are... I don't know what to try next.... I made the file name in Firezilla /buzztouch thus for the URL I put http:/domainname.com/buzztouch

The URL is specific to your host. Not domainname.com, but your actual domain name or address t o your server. For example: I could have http://www.kozmoweb.com/buzztouch You may have golfball.godaddyserver199.com/buzztouch "domainname.com" is just an example. Hope that helps. William

Okay, just checking on that domain name item. It can be taken literally sometimes. ;-) One thing to check would be the permissions for the files folder.

Hi, I think there is a problem when you put files in the private folder. I could be wrong but in my opinion it has to be in the public folder. Best regards, Danny
