If you've got what it takes to make a good looking app, you've got what it takes to make a good looking website. Don't use cheat-sheet templates. They may look professional at first, but people may recognise it and you want something unique to your site. For example, a PowerPoint theme looks good a first, but I've seen too many presentations, so now the themes look cheap. Comments I just used my own graphics and animation.
