Application Loader and Development Provisions

My app is almost there and i am so close to submission but so far. I got it up on iTunes Connect and i downloaded the application loader and was breezing through. Then it asks me to choose an app to upload to the app store and thats where there is a missing piece in the puzzle. I do not have an option to change the build settings from development to distribution even though i have the certificates in my keychain and on the provisioning portal. My Xcode does not recognise that i have a development certificate. The application loader software is asking me to upload a file and i dont know what to upload and i have nothing to upload. Can someone please help with this final piece in the puzzle. Thanks.

Hi Krima, Have you downloaded your Developer Certificates and Provisioning profiles and added to Xcode for the app? You need these in order to Code Sign your app for Distribution and/or Developement testi on devices. Keep us posted. Your almost there!

Yeah I have done all this. I even have the certificates for distribution but for some reason the bundle ids for my certificate and my app don't match up. My app is ready in iTunes connect and ready for upload. When I try to upload my app into application launcher it asks me to choose the app but there is no file to choose.

What version of Xcode are you using? I'm using Xcode 4.5 and I don't need to open Application launcher separately. I just Archive the Distribution build then it opens the Organizer Window and allows me to upload to iTunes from there. Does this sound familiar?

Hi @KRima on most of the latest versions on xcode I suppose, since it worked fine for me, you don't need application loader separately as Ian has said to upload your binary to itunesconnect, you can follow the guide below from the point where you have completely finished setting up your info in itunesconnect and making sure it matches in Xcode. It is from the "build for archiving stage" https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Submitting_Your_App_To_iTunes_Connect_v1.0.pdf

Well thats just the thing. It doesn't match up. Under code signing, i think i need to change that to iPhone distribution instead of developer but the iPhone distribution says in "(no profiles currently match). Im not sure where i was supposed to match them? How to i get my Xcode bundle identifier exported into iTunes Connect? I would like to show you my print screen but dont know how to add it here?

@armacfan i sent you an email. How do i get my archive list showing something? Its blank even though i went scheme>edit scheme>archive>build for release (my iPhone is used not simulator) and i check the box that says display it in the archive list and press OK but still nothing shows there? I also went to product drop down menu>build for>archiving and i get no errors. Everything is set to release. What am i missing or doing wrong? All my code signing is set for distribution as well

Can anybody help with this?? I am getting this same issue. everything seems to be set up fine, the app is "waiting for upload", and Build for Archiving works fine. However, when I try to find the archive, I can't find it.

I didn't need it I finally realised. It all happens in Xcode and application loader is sitting on my computer collecting dust. When you archive it, the devices window pops up(you can also get to this window by pressing the button on the top right corner of Xcode) and you need to validate the app and if it passes validation then you submit. There should be both buttons there.

The archive is in the Xcode drop down menu under project then archive.

I found another solution here, KRima, which worked like a charm for me. The thread I found, I couldn't copy and paste, but in a nutshell, instead of doing "Build For - Archiving", just do "Archive". Worked fine for me, and my app has just been uploaded for review!! Hoping I get the green light from the folks at Apple soon!

Yeah just an archive works under the project menu. Good luck with them as they can be very picky.
