Basic Query on Augmented Reality

I have been asked by a client (the client bit makes me sound professional) to do an app of a restaurant that has great views as it is on the top of a very prestigious hotel. I know very little about AR but have seen there is a Aurasma plugin - does anyone know if this could be easily used so that a customer could point there phone at view and it could overlay names and info of buildings. Any guidence whatsoever is much appreciated, and any viepoints on the plugin. Mark

iOS / Android? If you need a simple, cheap solution to overlay a map you can use this for Android: http://www.chupamobile.com/products/details/296/Augmented+Reality+Toolkit/ Have yet to try Aurasma someone else can jump in for that buddy.

Hi @Marko, The plugin created by @Kittsy is neat and integrating well with the SDK coming from Aurasma.com. But recently aurasma upgraded and they changed their partnership system. I used the plugin in test application and worked very well, though I never published. I would recommend you first apply for the partnership http://www.aurasma.com/become-a-partner#findout and see if it is still free or feasible then try the aurasma studio which guides how to make aurasmas which does not require a lot of skills. Implementing the SDK and plugin is quite easy once you get the partnership. Once you decide to go with it, I can help you more specifically. Good luck.

Thanks Buddy That help immensly, just as I was being dragged away frow the app world a top restaurant and hotel requested me in for app. I sat like a nodding dog in the meeting and have for the last couple of weeks buried my head like an agrophobic ostrich. I was then teaching my daughter some very dull maths that they are struggling at in school and saying you have to face up to your problems they can always be solved, the fact that I postioned myself behind the much smaller and easy to view best maths student when I was being tested was ommitted form my moment of Martin Luther inspirational parenting. Hence I am posting and requesting the guidence. Thanks Mac PS Your dog looks skinnier is the economic climate even effecting K9's

Good stuff, stick with it. So you took the job, the app / client job that is? I don't know fluff but if you ever need anything don't hesitate to shout. Making apps on here is a whole lot of fun, making apps for clients and getting paid in proper folding dollars (stronger currencies are available) is even better. As a good man on here once said, design, develop, distribute, dedicate. Think that is what he said anyway, know there were a lot of D's in there. Big week ahead over here and middle of April my folks are coming over for 10 days, can't wait. Re: Dog. Benny in the picture is no longer with us, died suddenly towards end of last year, then we got burgled and house ransacked. Boy were we glad to see the back of 2012. Good times this year are ahead. New pup, new BT stuff and new clients, what's not to like eh?

Mac- Last part of 2012 was an unfair year and those idiots who take the industry and keepsakes from another persons environment will never no matter what they take endevour to as full and as enriched a life as you. I had a Chocolate brown labrodore who looked like the dog in Turner and hooch, but he was the worst guard dog ever. We got burgled and to this day I am sure he made them a cup of tea and bisucits and helped load the car. I think he was getting back at me for putting him on a no meat diet as he was getting to fat. I think i would like a honey badger as a pet they even take on lions!

Good stuff! Benny (seen in pic) would probably have made them a wee cuppa and handed over safe combination, he was good like that. 70lbs of fluffy friendliness. There has been a spate of burglaries over here in our surrounding area, heroin finally arrived in the city and boy do those thieves and low life scum need their hit. We got lucky, others not so much. Came home tonight, took new pup out for walk and our neighbours house had been done. 2013 is shaping up, got to hang out with David of BT fame at weekend, good times and handing over a project to client a week today for iOS and Android. Will let you know. Always good to chat, Yer pal, MacApple
