Android errors

Trying to figure out some crashing issue that a customer is having with a beta version of an app. I haven't been able to get crash logs, making this very difficult. It seems to be memory related, maybe not. My question is: Android filenames a pretty restrictive for image files, is there any restriction on PDF file names? I find conflicting info about this online from seemingly reliable sources. Anyone know for sure? Is it possible that it's an issue on one Android version but not others? (anything is possible I guess) What would be the easiest way to get error logs from someone that has a beta version of an app not distributed through Google Play? I've found various apps but would like opinions about which works best from actual experience please. Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim, I don't have a definitive source regarding PDF file names, but I've found that sticking to the a_z0_9 naming convention in all cases works pretty well. I did run across one case with a PDF file that had a long file name that seemed to cause it to crash. Once I shortened it up, all was well. I'm not sure if there is a file name length restriction or not, and I can't remember how long was "too long" in this particular case. Mark

Thanks Mark. I guess I'll try and rename a few using the strict convention.
