openWithWhatApp...eclipse error

Getting 13 errors...all openWithWhatApp cannot be resolved or is not a field. Any references to this error?? I'm not a programmer and getting lost in the code...

Typically, if your application tries to open a document for which it is not able to do (say, a PDF file, for instance) the system will try to find what apps will open it, and either launch the document in the correct app, or provide a dialog box of choices for the user to choose. I've built an app that collects a bit of information for an email. But since people use different email applications, it pops up a 'Open with What App' dialog so the user can choose among the email applications installed. Are you running this in a simulator? What are you trying to do? What kind of app are you building? A little more information would give us a direction to go... Cheers! -- Smug

Thanks...yes I am running a simulator. I set up a top menu "Home" button and the error was reflecting a non working "Home" button in that simulator version. I changed the simulator and now the button is working using the hardware buttons on the right side. I read somewhere that the hardware buttons may not function fully and to test live. Will try to do that. Thank you.

yeah, sometimes getting the simulator to act 'right' is a bit of a challenge in itself, much less troubleshooting errant code... Once you find a configuration that works for you; make a copy of it, and when the opportunity presents itself, get an Android Device... Way faster, way more stable. :) Cheers! -- Smug
