Voucher Access Plugin Explanation

Suffered my first bad plugin review yesterday. In my head the plugin is very simple but it appears to be confusing others. I pride myself on trying to give the best customer service I can. Maybe this plugin has been a little neglected. Hopefully this will describe how it works. The voucher plugin could technically be described as a menu screen. It gives access to your other plugin screens in your application. The difference is, it’s like a blind menu and the user must know the name of their screen before they can access it. The voucher plugin gives the final user the illusion that a password/email is required to access the screen, and technically it is, but it’s not very complex or that clever. If you has a simple menu with 10 child items leading to 10 different screens. You press the cell or button in the menu and it takes you to the desired screen. But how about if you didn’t want every user to have access to all of the screens and only access to one. You could say use the password/login screen. But one password unlocks all of the screens, not just one screen. In a similar scenario using the voucher plugin. You would use the voucher plugin in place of the menu list. The user gets to the screen and is greeted by a text input box to access there files. They can go no further with out inputting a password. (They can go back obviously) The plugin has presets asking for password, email, voucher code etc. The passwords for the desired screens are the desired screens nickname. (Nothing complicated – But the screens nickname could be [email protected], “letmein123”or even “SjkhTCb47£jkj*”)another not to remember although the navbar title defaults to the nickname, this can be changed in the control panel. You could have 10 galleries make each nickname an email address. When the user types the email address into the plugin it will launch that screen, and only that screen. This password can be shared over email, text phonecall. If you follow the customURL tutorial you could use that with the plugin to automatically login to that page. The code could also be on a flyer or poster with a link to your app. There are a lot of ways to use this. The plugin has the option to remember password so they don’t need to type it again. I hope that makes more sense.

Perfect sense. The bad review is from an annonymous user. You can almost measure the amount of dedication in solving his problems. Saw the review, don't remember seeing the a post asking for help. haven't tried this plugin but it its does work as you say, I'm sure it does, you should ask BT to take down that review. Cheers. @Kittsy don't focus on the one anonymous user that probably doesn't even know how the system works. Buzztouch has competition now. Unfortunately, that competition can be complete assholes. My thought is that it is probably competitor just spamming away. You my friend work your booty off to search the forums see what people are asking for and then make the plug in. Your customer service is the coolest customer service out there! You have helped me so many times and go beyond and above a lot of people. I don't think BT should take down the review I think others should test it out make a video and put it underneath the others. Everybody have a right to their opinion. My personal beliefs is I love feedback of any kind. Yeah Negative feedback hurts however it can teach you a whole heck of a lot and tweak your plugin or app even better. Thanks again for all the great plugins and ideas how to use them. Got some apps in the works with a whole bunch of your stuff in them and video to roll out soon. Keep up the great work my man! O course he can have is opinion. But on reviews I feel that the review should be based on if an app or plugin or whatever does what it says it does. If it's pretty, if its ugly if it does the thing in another way than the way I thought it did, shouldn't matter. If it does what its description says it does then it shouldn't have a bad review. I've had bad reviews in my apps, because people didn't like the design. I understand that, but with design you can never have a good opinion from everybody, its a matter of taste. So my app does all it says it does, and I get a bad review because it has a blue icon instead of a red one... that pisses me off. But thats just how I see reviews. Cheers.

It's an interesting topic, yes its good to see natural feedback, negative or positive. Sometimes you have to take the rough with the smooth. When you get unconstructive feedback like Kittsy's should you take it down? I don't know? You would want our fellow BT members not forking out for the Plugin because It has a rating of one star. This kind of thing is going to make plugin developers not want to develop any more.

The feedback was taken on board that's why I wrote the first post. I felt it was simple enough but if even one person can't get it working I've failed to give them appropriate instructions. Hopefully once my website is set up, and will have examples, tutorials and custom mods this will be avoided in the future.

Its not the bad review that bothers me. But the fact the it's not true. The plugin does do what it states it should. If I didn't know Kitsy and was looking for a plugin like this one. That review would for sure keep me away. Thats my point. Bad reviews are ok. As long as there true. Otherwise you might end up having a developer, that makes a similiar plugin to one already existing, and just makes bad reviews on the competion to try and move users to buy his plugin. I know here in Portugal, advestising works diferently than in the US. I remeber seeing Pepsi advertising stating that it tasted or was better than Coca Cola, in Portugal, you can only state that in an advertising if you can proof that in fact its better than the competion. You cannnot say, buy Pepsi the best Cola in the market. You could say buy Coca Cola, the leader of tha market, cause thats true.

When ever I get a bad review on one of my apps I remind myself that millions of people believe that Obama is bent on the destruction of the U.S., and his birth records and college transcripts have been forged as part of this malicious effort. Despite all of the evidence to the contrary, they remain steadfast in their opinion. So.... Before taking it personally, consider the source. Put simply, never argue with a fool -- people might not know the difference. I saw earlier that you got a 1 star review but didn't bother reading it. Your reputation and scores of positive reviews elsewhere make the one negative review non credible.

I felt the same when i first got a negative review on one of my apps. It hurts but there are always plenty more positives than negatives! I think what you have done to the plugin community so far has been awesome. They are some great plugins to help everyone improve there apps. In my opinion, the carousel one, has to be one of the best for design (but there are alot of others that bring great benefits to our apps functionally) ** HOWEVER **, i would have one comment, and its more for the Buzztouch team. Although i love the Plugin market, is there any way that we can get better support for them? What i mean by this, we have a GREAT forum community that are always helping, but sometimes the only person who can help is the creator themselves. I am only saying this from experience, because i have had issues with a plugin, that i could not get to work as it says. Now, this could be me although i have double and triple checked that i have done everything correctly. Ive created my own post for help, and ive tagged on other posts about the same plugin, yet i still have the issue. Ive sent a PM to the designer, but you can never tell if the other party gets alerted, or checks for there own PM's. I also understand this is a side hobby for most people and most of us, do actually have other jobs/kids/more important things to take care of ahead of replying to people Sometimes the frustration can simply trigger the user to do a negative review rather than having patience. I dont think that is the case here because Kittsy is not like that and seems to be a frequent viewer of the forum and quite often posts help/fixes/suggestions. Going back to my suggestion, maybe a plugin submitter, must have PM turnt on, or an additional section in the plugin detail screen where issues can be posted that are specific to that exact plugin? Or maybe have their plugin removed if no responses are made? or a help document/lessons learnt section that people can submit against a plugin There are probably alot more better ideas than i have! Reading this back now sounds abit negative in places, but i am not being negative at all. Im a HUGE fan of all of this. Just wanted to voice an opinion. Great work Kittsy! Whenever you are down south, id love a plugin creating lesson ! LOL Thanks all Steve - UK

Thanks Steve, I'm working on my own website for plugin support. It's very difficult to respond to queries quickly (for everyone), especially with the international barriers. I did quite a bit of work with Kaybee from Australia when he was up I was asleep or in work and viceversa. it becomes very difficult. the support element is something I enjoy doing. I even except full xcode project checks through dropbox when people can't get stuff working. (Especially that tempremental Aurasma kernel, I stress not my plugin their framework and kernel) I personally will not release a plugin until I know the exact workings and that it won't cause stress to the developer. As plugin developers we need to support our code but it is not easy. Bug hunting is key, if you buy a plugin and you find a bug you need to tell them. If you can fix it yourself do so, but you still need to let them and others know so it can be remedied faster. My personal request is to have the FAQ open on the plugin page we would then be able to avoid repetition in the forum.

No errors, just doesnt jump to the 'paid' screen once purchase is made. Sits on the puchase plugin until you press a button to move to the next screen. v1 used to do it fine, but since redownloading with v2, its not working the same not your issue. but maybe another plugin for you to do also to rival :)

@jake no could have a billion. It's just another way of accessing a screen. If you put the voucher plugin nickname in it would launch that screen again. So my advice is to make your nicknames at little obscure when using this plugin

Bonzo due to my personal ethics code I would never create a similar app to rival another developer. In a more professional manner competition is good, but due to us being amateurs it can become very disheartening when someone tries to out do us.

that's hardly in english. not work on my WHAT? this plug-in is a marketers dream. i look at almost every piece of junk mail that is sent to my house and look for codes on them now since you introduced this idea. every one of them i se now i think - the voucher could do that.... It'a a brilliant idea and I'm anxious to use it soon. I do wonder if the app reviewers might think it is a psuedo 'in app' type of thing, so for sure interested to hear when someone get it past the reviewers. and since i purchased - that means i can leave a review ;)

It's deserved. Sorry that wasn't up there sooner! I have a lot of reviews to write for a handful of other plug-ins. Chris (x2) PSMDannys and mrdavids stuff is just as deserving and just as well supported. All those things really need more reviews aside from 'it rocks', it does help potential buyers.

i always think the competition is good, even at the amatuer level. The plugin seems to have alot of niggling issues that a rivall plugin might not have. then its down to the purchasers choice. For eample the inapp one doesnt work offline ??? so even if they purchase something, they cannot access it unless they are offline. This is a big show stopper really with this plugin?

Not show the user how to use it. Look another plugin all of them have note or tutorial how to use. I really want to get money back but I can't.

Yes buzztouch is for all, if you don't know code, you just ask. It's what I do. I think what people are saying here is that, users should first try to solve issues, like gathering all the facts, before making a decision and leaving a bad review. In this case the plugin developer is one of the most helpful in the forum, so you must understand that people might think it´s strange that he wouldn't help you. Anyway, it's just my opinion. I'd just forget this, and take advantage of all that Buzztouch has to offer. Cheers.
