Playing audio within your app

Ok so I am creating an app that needs to play audio within the app. I can either stream the audio or upload the files... I downloaded the "audio streaming" plugin, but it doesn't play the audio... anyone have an ideas of the best way to play audio within BT apps? I need to upload new audio files each week to the app so that needs to be in consideration. Should I use maybe a word press site?

Hi teamcaz, Thanks for downloading The Audio Streamer Plugin. Doesn't play?? It plays audio files (mp3) from an external source (not included in the app). You could try to upload an mp3 file to dropbox, copy that link and use that link in the plugin. There are a lot of bt members that are using this plugin without any problems right now. Let me know! Best Regards, Danny

It works! this was my mistake, not the plug-ins fault. The plugin is an extremely well built plugin that works really well... It actually saved my app. Thank you for making it!

Hi teamcaz, No, for every audiofile you like to use you create a new menu item. That makes a list of audiofiles. So: 1 audio file per menu item. Best Regards, Danny

Hi, I like this plugin, good job @PSMDanny! I understand that the plugin starts to play the content before it's downloaded completely, which is cool. What happens once it has downloaded the whole file?Does it store it somewhere for future usage or it downloads it every time? Thanks Kahuna

hmmmm ok, I must not be looking at the right thing... I dont see the option to load a new menu item. I open the plugin and it gives me the option to load a URL, and I did and then hit save thinking it would make a menu item but it doesn't...

Hi Kahuna, It kind of downloads an mp3 file in packages and not the whole file at once. Once the first package is downloaded is starts to play and downloads the second package and so on and on.... It doesn't store anything and download it each time you try to play it. It's kind of similar how youtube plays their videos.. Hope that clarifies a bit. Best Regards, Danny

@teamcaz, No you didn't understand completely. You create an audio stream (with the plugin) next you make a new screen (again the audio streamer plugin). When done with this you have to point a menu item (from the simple menu for example) to each earlier created audio file). Is this a better explanation? Best Regards, Danny

Hey Danny, so I think your Blog Pro plugin will work better for me playing seperate audio files. I put a URL for an MP3 file that I have and also I tried referencing a drop box url... either way I cant get a audio file to play... what am I doing wrong? I hit the play button and it doesnt do anything...

Hi Teamcaz, You can't use The Blog Pro Plugin for this (I mean in combination with The Audio Streamer plugin) If you want to use The Blog Pro Plugin for the audio did you do this (otherwise it doesn't work): http://www.bt-addons.com/video/the-blog-pro-videos/212-the-installation-process-of-the-blog-pro-buzztouch-plugin.html Best Regards, Danny

@Teamcaz, Just create a couple of audio files with The Audio Streamer Plugin. Next use any menu plugin you like and point each menu item to the previously created audio streams. Best Regards, Danny

Danny, ok so I got your Blog-Pro working flawlessy after watching that video... one last and final question if I may... so as a blogwhen I enter in a new story.. it goes to the bottom of the list by default. Is there any possible way when you enter in a new blog entry you can make it to go to the top of the list like a regular blog? Thanks! I love this plugin!

Hi teamcaz, Good to hear it's working. The only way to get this working (without altering the code) is to manually change the order of the blog items. Download the manual here: http://www.bt-addons.com/the-plugins/blog-pro-plugin.html On page 7 (note 1) are instruction (if you're selfhosted) on how to change the code. Best Regards, Danny

Danny, quick question... I love the Blog Pro plugin! the little thumbnail preview pics that you can use for each blog entry... is there a way to make them clearer? I am using my own pics and I am thinking its the way I am shrinking the pics but they come out kind of blurry... any ideas?

Hi teamcaz, I don't know what could be the reason. I have several examples working without any problem. Maybe the source images are too small? try a bigger image instead! Best Regards, Danny
