APP icon stays at default

I changed the app icon so many times and saved it but when i view it in the simulator the BT default is still shown there. Its been like that for a weeks now. Its only this one app the rest are OK. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Have you deleted the app from the simulator and then re-run it? Sometimes the graphic images remain in the cache.

What do you mean by delete the app? Do you mean delete it off Xcode and redownload the source code or use the same source code i originally downloaded? Would it make a difference if i use my phone instead of a simulator

If you use your phone, remove the app from the phone. If you use the simulator, remove it from the simulator. For good measure, every once in a while I 'clean' my simulator by choosing the menu "iOS Simulator" > " Reset Content and Settings" and that usually clears out the cobwebs... Cheers! -- Smug

You remove (delete) it from the simulator the same way you do on your phone. Hold it until it begins shaking, then click the "x" to delete it. When you run in xcode again it will load a clean version into the simulator.

What does your icon look like in your Xcode Project? Do you see the icon you're expecting in the BT_Art folder?

I changed the app name a few weeks ago and it hasn't changed in the simulator either. I dont know whats going on. In BT it shows the app icon i created and the name is what i changed it to but in the simulator its incorrect

Hi KRima, Your own app icon is showing fine in my simulator. the only thing I don't see are your images for your buttons.most likely they are not loaded yet. So you have completely deleted the project from your computer, redownloaded the code, and still don't see your icon?

No i havent deleted it off Xcode yet. I wasn't sure if that was a good idea. The buttons for the app live in Xcode as PNG files so im not sure why you cannot see them? So should i try and completely delete it off my computer Xcode and all and re download the source file?

No need to delete Xcode. I would delete the BT project and start with a fresh download. I probably don't see your Button .png files because they are being called to from certain files on your computer. The app is working great on my end. keep us posted! we'll get it:) ian

I deleted the project and redownloaded the source code again. When i ran it the screen was blank with nothing there. So i added BT_Plugins folder, BT_Docs, BT_Images, BT_Sounds etc and added the files the app needs to work. I stopped the simulator and re-ran it and still get a black screen. The only thing that was a positive is the app icon is now showing but the rest of the app doesnt work

Did you try to Clean your project then Run the Xcode project again? Not just relaunching the App in the Simulator. Sound like we're close!

No errors showing anywhere? Try deleting the App from the Simulator then launch again

Sounds like maybe you don't have a Home Screen configured in your Layouts/Tabs section of your control panel

There is a home screen but for some reason its not reading it. What if i make a new home screen and call the other pages from there. Would that work or is there a quicker way?

In your apps control panel for The Prophetic Recitation. Look under Layout/Tabs . You need to enter which screen you would like the home screen to be. As of now there is no screen selected in the blank box.

When it was working i didn't have anything in the layout area and it was working fine. I added my home screen in non-tabbed layout still blank screen. I might just make a new app and create it all again. Not sure whats going on. It should only take a few hours.

It's working fine on my end. that's the confusing part. Try doing Ctrl+Click on your Xcode project icon (it will be the Xcode icon you use to launch your app in Xcode) then Select "Show package contents", now find the folder "xcuserdata" and delete that folder. see if that helps?

Hmmm. Weird. Maybe something in the images you are adding on your end to the app? a bad naming convention on an image? IOS Ghost?
