My First Problem

Hi, I have just started creating an app with buzztouch and I am creating a tabbed layout but whenever I upload images for the tabs and then run the app it does not display them. Can someone tell me the correct size to use. I have tried 32x32 and 30x30 but nothing works?

If they are coming out as blank squares, you will haven't used invisibility. The gaps are made by invisibility and that's what makes up the image. Black and invisible colours. If you really can't get them to work, try these out: http://galuca.com/

I know you're a bit far, but if you want to talk about all sorts of stuff like this with me and some others, please join our meet in Oxford. It does seem a little far from you tough, but you're very welcome if you want to come along!

I have a two-year old running around my house and that's worse. You think they don't need you as much, but they really do!!! So you want invisibility. That's what make up the lines. Basically, make a Black and white icons. Now make all the white invisible. Now save it as PNG. That should be you done.

No worries about the Oxford meet. I wasn't expecting someone to come from that far away anyway! We have them live on YouTube as it happens so you can watch while we talk! Here's more info: www.buzztouchoxford.com

Have you actually added the icons to your xcode project? Just uploading them into the system won't work. They need to be physically placed in the BT_images folder in your xcode project and then the code recompiled.

As MGoBlue says, you need to place them into the BT_Images folder. This is fairly basic that I forgot the mention it. When inputting the file names, its case sensitive and you need to write the full name, with extensions.

Thanks that has worked now. But I am having to test on xcode 4.5.2 with an iphone 6 simulator. Is there any backwards compatibility with things like tabbed icons. I am currently using the 2x retina ones but they wont display properly with this setup. How should I approach this how do you make your icons appear the same on different iphones with different versions of ios or is this not possible? Sorry if I am asking a stupid question.

They are just images. Of course they are backwards and forwards compatible. Because it is just images. It's the code which is needing to be changed with every Xcode version

Make sure to put both the standard and the @2x versions in your project. In the control panel, just specify the standard. Xcode automatically sorts it out when you need the @2x version. So, for instance, if you have house.png and [email protected], you'd put both files in you BT_Images directory. In the control panel, you'd specify house.png and then Xcode will use house.png for standard iPhone displays and [email protected] for the retina displays. Same thing when you use background images within screens. Hope that helps.

Can anyone answer. When I add rows to my simple menu when the app refreshes it does not show a list item just a black screen?
