Facebook -Missing Privacy Policy - used for Socialize

Did anyone else integrating Socialize with Facebook etc get the following email from Facebook: Hi, Please update your privacy policy for Your App to avoid enforcement action. The URL may be missing or returning an error. Also, be sure your privacy policy displays on your website or app. For more info, refer to Platform Policy II.3 and this external resource: http://www.applicationprivacy.org/platform-requirements/facebook/. You can view this and other Developer Notifications related your app in the App Dashboard. Thanks, The Facebook Team

Who are http://www.applicationprivacy.org ? Are they anything to do with facebook, or just pretending to be?

Fair enough. I didn't check the link, just in case. I didn't realise privacy policies are an actual requirement in an app? I sometimes provide a basic one if I remember, but only as a courtesy to users.

It looks like a couple of liberals who want to be privacy policy police. It's a horrible looking site registered via GoDaddy. Cheers! -- Smug

Facebook started requiring this a while ago - I just found a privacy policy template somewhere online and linked to it on my website. I got the impression that if I didn't comply, they would remove my app from Facebook... Here's the link to one of them - http://www.pixobit.com/skyrimquizprivacypolicy/ - feel free to copy and paste it if you want. You will obviously just want to replace all occurrences of "Pixobit Mobile" and "Quiz - Skyrim Edition"

Absentia, did you fill in the whole App Details page and submit for review? I just added the privacy policy url to the App Details paged and saved but didn't "Submit App Detail Page" because requires lots of other info do to do so. Did you?

For a couple of my more popular apps I did, but you don't have to...it is kind of a pain designing all of those banners and icons. I'm not really Facebook savvy so I don't know the exact benefit of doing it, but I figure it at least adds to the cool factor to have your app appear in Facebook app searches

oh good to know - that's what I was worried about - because when you save the Apps Details page it says it is saved but also says it is "Unsubmitted" at the the top - and facebook doesn't provide any feedback to say the problem is resolved. Thanks
