Flash card plugin to learn a language

Any way to make a flashcard plugin in buzz touch. This would be a great tool to help people memorize words and learn a different language. I want to make/download/buy a flashcard plugin that can show a word and/or image on one side and a definition and/or image on the other. Also, if the user could make their own flashcards in the app...would be great Something similar to Quizlet online, but make it available to study offline. Any help or ideas would be great. Min

I'm kind of looking at doing something similar for FCC Exams... basically flash cards, and then a full blown test. My first step would be to dissect the current quiz plugin and see what makes it tick, because it's not so far off what I want. It has all the capabilities I need, just not the way I need it. So optimistically, it shouldn't be too hard to massage a bit of the code to do what we want it to do. But in a realistic time frame, I won't be looking seriously at this idea for another month or two. Let me know how you progress, and when I'm ready to jump in, I'll be sure to let you know. Flash Cards would be great and a great complement to the Quiz plugin! So many ideas come to mind. Smug: I've been toying with getting a Ham license for years (My dad was a big Ham Radio guy) but never seem to get the time. I've even looked at the test since Morse is no longer a requirement and I'm pretty knowledgeable about most of the stuff without even doing any coursework. I'd be interested in the FCC app you're thinking of. Best, William

Truth be told, the questions/answers from the actual tests are out there for free. I never understood why people pay for study materials, but they do, so I'll sell it, lol! I figured flash cards on all the elements for free, and testing with scores and reports and stuff would be an inexpensive in-app purchase. I'll probably make one app to cover both Amatuer and Commercial licenses, since they aren't that far apart really. I kind of thought my Amateur Extra test was harder than my Grol Element 3, but it could have just been the draw of the questions. To get your Technician and get on the air with 2 meter is a breeze; it's really just 'legal' common sense stuff. And decent 5W handhelds can be had for under $100. All the questions/answers are here: http://www.arrl.org/question-pools @acuteone, hope I didn't hijack your thread!! we now return you to our regularly scheduled.... Cheers! -- Smug

Make sure you add it to the plugin wish list on the how to page. -Shane

You can use the storybook plugin.. Create each card as a PDF and you can advance forward, backward, etc.....
