extracting source code

Hi again everyone. I'm trying to open up my download in eclipse and the instructions are tell me to select "open project from existing source" option, but I don't have that option. I can only name my project, and then select the api levels i want to use via drop down menus. Maybe my version is newer? Do i need to use the import feature? I did try that but there was a lot of errors in the code. Any ideas?

Yes, use the import feature. GoNorthWest has some videos here. https://www.youtube.com/user/gonorthwest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV3Ofi2602I If your still getting errors post them here.

You can never go wrong with GoNorthWest's tutorials. I have to use 'File' > 'New' > 'Other' > 'Android' > 'Android Project from Existing Code' Cheers! -- Smug

Yep...the method to open your project has changed since the doc was written, unfortunately. Smug has it nailed...that's the way to go!

Hi, the option you are looking for is in the item below... go to Project - Android Project from Existing Code. It is possible that Eclipse version changed or we have something newer. I also looked for it for quite a while. Then you import the whole folder. When you change the project, you have to delete your existing project from the workspace first. The new download will have the same name BT_Root... and it would not allow you to import it. By the way, you may experience problems with AVD, if it crashes, you have to manually delete your AVD from the folder where they are stored. Regards, Frogman

Yeah I'm having a problem with AVD now. How do I manually delete it?

If you're getting that pesky 'device still in use' error even when it's not, you have to quit AVD, quit eclipse, and delete it directly. Not sure on windows; in the Mac, it's in your user directory <username>/.android/avd/<devicename>.avd Cheers! -- Smug
