automatic updating not working

I downloaded an app to android and it went live. I made a small change and uploaded an update, version 1.01 The version shows when I go to the android apps store and find my app, and it also shows that I checked automatic updating. Yet the app on my device has not updated and on the store it shows the update choice, next to the uninstall choice, so it's giving me a choice to to manually update, even though, again, right underneath the checkbox is checked for automatic updating. What am I not seeing

So I turned my nexus off completely, then back on and I had the new version. Yet there was never any indication that there was a new version as in the iphone. Also, on the iphone you don't have to turn it off for a new version to download. If I had kept it on longer would it have still updated. Or do I have to turn off automatic update to see any sort of notice? I'm very new to Android so these may be very simple questions but not, as yet, to me. Steve

Have you looked at my tutorial on auto-updates. On iOS, it works very likely! https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/AutomaticRefresh.pdf

You've misunderstood I think. I mean an actual update to the app, from say version 1 to version 1.01. Not a refresh of data from BT.

Oh right. That makes more sense. I'm not an Android person, particularly, but I presume this must be something to do with Google's backend. iOS is much more sophisticated when it comes to its App Store. I'd wait a day or two. Something is probably being clogged up on the Google side. If you've already submitted the package, it'll be there soon. Google - 0 Apple - 1

On my Nexus 7 tablet, all my app update automatically without me having to do anything. The Notification center (or whatever they call it on Android) shows me apps that have been updated. My guess is that there's an option in Android to configure how often it checks for updates, and whether it automatically updates apps. My Nexus is running Jellybean. As far as I recall, I never had to set anything for this behaviour. Mark
