Transferring from BTv1.4 to BT2.0

Hi, I have an Android app built in BTv1.4 that I wish to transfer to my self hosted BTv2.0 platform. I will rebuild the app as it is a pretty simple one. What do I need to do in order for the app to be successfully uploaded to Google Play as a new version of the existing app? Do I just need to replace the package name (the one starting com.v1_4.B373 etc) in the manifest file and increase the version code? Is there more that I have to do? I would be grateful to know.

Hello. I have listed a thread that this was brought up in. For some reason the success rate is mixed. I was able to do it but had to follow directions exactly. Good luck. -Shane http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=18ACABCF7A675331DEF2039&currentPage=6 Here is another thread with the directions. http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=2AF96D6F9346BAFAEB6AF8F&tid=2AF96D6F9346BAFAEB6AF8F

In Xcode, this would be not problem, because you would just state which version it is and the budle identifier. I presume that the same would be in Android. Make sure that the Bundle ID is the same, and you've changed the version number, and I think that should be fine. As far as I'm aware, you could have completely changed all the details and file names, but as long as it gets sent as the same package, it'll be fine. Or that's how Xcode would work.

One super key thing to keep in mind is that if you're going to do an upgrade to an already existing app, you MUST sign the new apk with the same keystore that you used for the one that's already been published. If you don't, then Google will see the app as not an update, but a new app. Mark

Thanks, Mark. I'll double check. Great advice, as always.
