SMS and Email in the same screen?

I can get email to work. I can get SMS to work. but for some reason, I can't get email AND sms to work on the same screen. I'm sure it is a fundamental lack of information on my part, but there it is. Has anyone done anything similar before? Would anyone know how to have the same controller be a delegate for both SMS and Email? If I do one or the other; no problem. But if I add both, if the first time choice is email, it will always come up email, regardless of whether you later choose SMS or not. If the first time choice is SMS, it will always come up SMS, regardless of you later choose email or not. Any direction would be appreciated. Cheers! -- Smug

That's interesting @Smug! I don't think I've encountered this on Android. Did you get this to work on IOS yet? LA

Not sure. I haven't tried that. Sorry. I do have problems with none of my pre-filled sms coming up when trying to send though.

Search on the App Store for a BuzzTouch app named Love Messages* by Rakesh Shringi. The asterisk at the end of the App's name is important! Go into messages, then into a particular message. At the bottom, he put two buttons: - SMS - Email The app was created by XtremeeSolutions https://www.buzztouch.com/xtremeesolutions Perhaps ask him on how he did it? Let us know, I too am curious. -- Niraj

How are you trying to do it, is it a custom screen are you using menu buttons. If you are writing your own you need to make sure what is being called is using different methods or if a switch is involved make sure the correct tags are being set

Kittsy, It's a custom screen... I'd rather use the 'internal' email, it's already built in... But I'm not sure how to encapsulate any of my data into Json within the app to use the call... if([theScreenData.jsonVars objectForKey:@"emailSubject"]){ [picker setSubject:[theScreenData.jsonVars objectForKey:@"emailSubject"]];} Where/How to I create Json data to use for 'theScreenData' ? Any ideas? Cheers! -- Smug

I'm not sure if it's a solution, lol! As I dig deeper, I find I have two fundamental issues (lack of knowlege doesn't count, heh) 1) In all these tutorials I do, they're calling stuff like, 'webView' and such... so that's what I've been doing in my code... and I've recently found a LOT of the BT code uses the same conventions, causing unneeded issues and time consuming research... So I'm learning to call my objects something completely distinct, just in case. 2) David has already done a lot of the heavy lifting, so while I've been grinding myself down trying to 'create' some of this stuff, I find it's inherent in a lot of the BT 'core' files... I just have to figure out how to access those procedures.... So I'm snooping through other plugins trying to get a feel for it... It's still a slow process, but I think it will be better in the long run, rather than recreate the wheel... Cheers! -- Smug

It's almost perfect. A couple of more tweaks and we're there. And as I expected, the 'fix' was for me to learn a little iOS/xCode, lol! Cheers! -- Smug

you're over complicating it. Check out stack overflow for how to reference the messageui framework

I got it... and you're right; I was over-complicating the heck out of it, lol! I'm extremely pleased with myself at the moment however, now that I'm out of the woods. Should last about 10 minutes, until I start the Android thing... Cheers! --Smug
