creating zip files for plugin development

What's the best utility on a Mac to zip up a plugin for self-hosting? With everything I've done, I've had to just manually ftp the files into my server because my zips can never be read by the server. Has anyone found a tool that works?

I am using YemuZip. It gives you an 'type' option of mac or pc. The mac type works for zipping plugins.
