1280 x 800 problem

Have an app running on a real device and 4 virtuals for testing. On all but one of the devices, landscape and portrait work, not always perfectly but acceptable. However, on a 1280 x 800 device simulator, when the home screen, which is a menu with buttons (on the bottom), opens, in the preferred landscape position, it looks fine, but if I simulate rotating to portrait, the buttons disappear off the bottom of the screen! This is at least on the simulator - don't have an actual 1280 x 800 to test on. Any ideas? Thanks. Steve

Is it feasible for it 'not' to rotate? Cheers! -- Smug

It is Android and I guess I could tell it not to rotate. It does seem to look better in the preferred orientation of the devices I've tested.

I don't see a choice in the core properties, however, to prevent rotations in this large device.

No, you'd have to make edits in the Android code altogether... Take a close look at the Quiz plugin 'Read Me' file... it has instructions on keeping the screen from rotating... that method might be adapted for your needs... Cheers! -- Smug

Actually I have some videos which might look better if rotated to landscape on a phone, so would want to keep that a viable option. Will put into description in store that on some devices that rotating might not be the preferred way to view this app.

Thing is, even if I figure out a way to do that, users of this particular device would be faced with essentially a blank screen they'd have to scroll down to. Not very nice to look at.

That's the issue with Android, every device is different. Jake

Decided to make the menu buttons on the right. Now every device at least shows what I need to show.
