Question About New Plugins

Hi As the plugins enter the market, I wanted to know how I can add a new plugin to a project that I have already created without having to recompile. Because I have done a few custom tweaks I don't want to go through the whole process again, including adding images etc. Can I just download the project and add the plugin that way? Does anyone have any advice on this.

There's really no way around it. If you add a plugin, you'll have to recompile your app. It doesn't mean you have to rebuild it from scratch. You can download a new copy of your app, extract the new plugin, add it to your existing project in the established fashion, copy the updated BT_Config.txt into the correct location, and you 'should' be ok. Cheers! -- Smug

yes you can, when you buy a plugin, download the self hosted version and drop the .m .h and xib files into your project. you will need to edit the .m and . h files it only takes a second change every copy of BT_appDelegate to yourApp_appDelegate, no need to redownload the source code, and this won't affect any of the other files you have altered.

You shouldn't even have to mess with config data if you just add the screens to your control panel - just copy the plugin folder into your project and recompile.

just like what smug said, just download the new source code with the new plugin and then copy the plugin folder (of whatever your new plugin is) into your original xcode project. i've also had this question a while back and it is really simple to fix. no need to start from scratch if there's a new plugin that you want to integrate :)

Ok, confused guys, it seems like there are 3 options. I'm not a coder so I need the option that doesn't require tweaking code. It seems the first option is better for me as tweaking code isnt an option, I will end up messing it up. Will option 1 diffiantly work?

Just download the source code for the app you're working on and copy the plugin folder to your "working copy" of the app. No need to do anything else

if you recompile and download source code awesomatt is right all the Bt stuff I told you to change would be automatic and you would just copy the plugin back in. I advise against this as you will end up having several of the .xcodeproj on your computer this can prove troublesome if you accidentally click on the new one can cause clanger errors and confuse xcode. Also if you are self hosted this wastes an api call
