When I check my app in the simulator it show working and it shows the street and the locations but when I install it in the cellphones it only shows the locations in blank screen with google logo in the left ground corner. Please help

Hi Angel, Congratulations on getting maps to work in the Emulator! That's usually the tricky part for most people! The thing to keep in mind is what keystore (debug or release) are you using to sign the app, and do you have a matching Google Maps API key specified in your string.xml file? I do have the google maps api key and I paste it in the string.xml and I also changed the KeyRelease to KeyDebug as the last video said that changed make my maps to show in the emulator. I will see this video now and see what I am missing for the real device. Thanks

I did follow all of the steps and did everything and still not working, I changed both of the Debug to Release and also created a new keystore but the map in the location still blank. Please help

Hi Angel, How are you getting the app onto your device? Are you using Eclipse with your device attached, or are you creating an apk and sending it to yourself then installing? If you are creating an apk, are you signing the app with your release keystore, or the default debug keystore? Mark

I am exporting the apk as signed app package then puting it into my mini usb and installing it. I tried both the default and the new keystore and I still getting a blank map just with the two pins location that I created and with my cellphone (my location) driving directions work but I am not able to see the map on the locations

Hi Angel, So, just to make sure of a couple of things: * You do have a network connection on your device, that is capable of reaching the Internet? * You signed your apk with the SAME release keystore that you used to generate the Google Maps API key? It must be the same keystore, or it won't work. * You have your Google Maps API key that you generated in the above step configured in the strings.xml file? If all those are good, it should work! I do have network connection. I did sign it with the same release keystore. I paste the google maps api key in both fields inside the strings.xml. thanks for your support on this I will send you my project soon maybe tomorrow.
