Animated Circle Menu: Version 1.1 submitted

Thanks to those that found some bugs that made it into my Animated Circle Menu plugin. I just submitted version 1.1 to fix those bugs and provide some basic Android support. On Android, it doesn't show a "circle menu", but it will show a list menu with icons (think of the Menu with Image plugin but without the header image). This way, you can use the plugin with apps that you have on both platforms and not have to worry about users seeing a blank screen on the Android version. I'll keep working on a way to recreate the circle menu on Android. I have some ideas - just need to sharpen my Java skills.

At least you have skills :) Let me know when android is done. When you say 'think of menu_with_image without the header'... Umm, can we wish for it 'with' the header still...? Cheers! -- Smug

Question: this might sound stupid, but can I move the centre circle to a different position on the screen? I have an idea I want to do with your plugin. Reason I think the question is stupid is because moving the circle will affect the potion of the sub menus but I have to ask.

Thanks for the update. I guess the update is not yet appeared in the plugin market. BTW, the last 2 most awaited splash plugins you submitted were bought. Great work.

Dragon - you could if you messed with the code. But you would have to worry about device rotations, positioning of center button, center button background, and each of the menu buttons. And then what to do about buttons going offscreen

Smug-I think I left the code in there to do header images. Would need to uncomment it, adjust the height of the header in the XML file, and add in appropriate JSON. All fairly easy though.

@Korkut Ata: thanks for the support! The update for this plugin was just submitted yesterday, so it still needs to go through the review process

Hi @chris1, Thanks for a wonderful plugin! I´ve been using it and have a question: Is there a way to have control over the placement of the label? For example, I´m using a horizontal cylinder with 3d effect (as you suggested in your comments) and found no way to put the label on front bottom. Also, how about font or color? Thanks!

Pancho, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "using a horizontal cylinder with 3d effect", but it sounds neat! Would love to see a screenshot of that in action. As for the label, it should already be at the bottom of the screen, centered horizontally. Are you trying to do something different? You can set the label properties in the code if you look close to half of the way down the file. You'll see something like this: //set UILabel buttonLabel = [[UILabel alloc]init]; CGFloat windowWidth = [UIScreen mainScreen].bounds.size.width; buttonLabel.frame = CGRectMake(0, viewHeight - 40, windowWidth, 40); buttonLabel.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentCenter; buttonLabel.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; buttonLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; buttonLabel.text = @""; [self.view addSubview:buttonLabel]; NSLog(@"setting label frame at:%@",NSStringFromCGRect(buttonLabel.frame)); [buttonLabel release]; The 'textColor' property lets you set the font color. You can see it's set to white by default. If you'd like a different font, you can just add a line in there like so: buttonLabel.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"Arial" size:12]; Hope this helps

By the way, Chris... I was watching the Plugin Webinar that I missed, and heard your comment about 'Blue Screen Android' simulators on Mac while running dual monitors. Just confirming my experience too; I get the same thing. Cheers! -- Smug

Hi @chris1, I apologize, my previous post was supposed to be sent to Kittsy. I erroneously sent it to you. I am also using your animated circle menu in a second app for ios, so I will be posting soon. Many thanks for the propmt response though! Pancho.

Hi Chris, I´m using your animated circle menu and have a few questions: 1) I´m assuming it works in the BT console on-line right? I mean, it is not only for self-hosted environments? Just to rule out this possibility. 2) I have tried 3 times to make it work, but no luck so far. All I see is a black screen and an empty navigator bar with the default gray color. This is what I´m doing: - I´m using short text (1 word) in the Button Labels. - Previously created screens in the action part. Just html blank screen plugins for now. - Icon 64-wide .jpg in the image of the center button. I assume that given the image specified for it, don´t need a center button background . - The rest is left as is. What am I missing? Thanks for your help in advance! Pancho. P.S: This time I´m sure it is about your plugin...;-)

Shouldn't need a background. Sounds like an issue with your jpg though. Look at debugger - do a search on it for your filename and see what it says. Chances are it can't find the image in the bundle. The labels only appear when a user holds down on one of the buttons, so you shouldn't see that when the screen first loads

Hi Chris In regards to repositioning the center circle, I would like to spin the wheel so I could get to each menu button. Would this be possible? How could I achieve this?
