SURVEY: How many BT'ers are interested in Building Games?

Hey all, I'm wondering how many BT'ers are interested in building Games with BuzzTouch. I've seen people asking about Games before and wondering how many people would like an Open Source, free, plugin that allowed you to build games via BT. So here are my questions: === survey === 1. Are you interested in building a game using Buzztouch? 2. Would you be okay if you had to write some code? (don't fret too much, I've designed this so that very, very little knowledge of programming is required) 3. IF this we're a paid plugin (it probably won't be) how much would you pay for this plugin? =========== In short, it would require some sort of code to handle user inputs like touches to your on screen objects/characters/sprites (again, don't fret it'll be as simple as possible, I'll explain more in the comments about why if someone asks). This will be a bigger project and will likely need some help converting to android, so if you're interested in working on this (it'd probably have to be donated time) let me know by posting to the thread or via PM. NOTE: this isn't a garuentee that this will be built, it's to see how many people want it. I know you guys must have questions about the plugin. Please post them below after you've answered the survey.

sounds like an awesome idea! Hard to say how much I'd pay for it, though, without seeing it in action. Would have to think at least $10 though. I'd be interested in helping with the Android version. There's certainly some better Java programmers on here, but if I can help I will.

Hello, Is BuzzTouch the right "tool" for the job of game development? Your proposal is very intriguing to me as a Developer. I am curious to see how your vision will get implemented. However, I have no creative bone in my body, thus, I am not a game programmer. I will encourage you from the sidelines. You go, dude! :-) -- Niraj

I'm not big on games. however, I think games are usually indicators of tomorrows UI, so I'm always interested, but I don't play that much. Cheers! -- Smug

I'd like to see educational games. Like a dot to dot for kids, or a concentration game. I think businesses would put these in their apps in a Just for Kids tab.

I think the price of a game creation plugin, in my opinion cannot be valued at $10 as seen above. I pay $99 per year with one company, but I get support with it. For me, price should be determined on features and support. May be a subscription would be better in this case as it means there would be funds to improve the platform as new technology comes out. I only speak for my self, but I would be prepared to pay up to $99 per year for a games platform within BT. I believe in supporting developers!

@Dragon007 - my understanding is that this will be a plugin, not a completely new development platform within Buzztouch. That's why I said $10 - it's the top price any of us have charged for plugins to-date. If its more than a plugin, then yes, it should be worth more.

No, (but I may in 2014) Yes, but would need to be very simple $ ? What ever the BT Community will support. The forums will let everyone know the "value" of your plugin. I don't have any plans to build a game but will buy your plugin to support the plugin market in case I want to build a game in the future. If you are successful in the Market other developers may join you and develop tools that no one has even thought of yet. Good luck, Mike

Absolutely yes. I think that the price for this kind of work would be around ten bucks, but it depends on what kind of customizations will be possible. It would be very nice if we could see some video showing the kind of features that you are planning. Good luck on your project: we're all waiting, be sure. DryFrog
