Don't understand how to submit to App Store

Hi all I got stuck in the app store summit process, the annoying certification part. I am luckily to get the iPhone Debug working, but when comes to iPhone distribution, it said: no profiles currently match. I follow several tutorials and app store guide on how to do that, but it all fails. My config: BT 1.5 OSX 10.7.5 XCode 4.6 Test iOS 6.1 Here are some screenshots for your information. http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa345/alucard0011/87A25E555FEB71672013-02-024E0B5348084151.png http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa345/alucard0011/87A25E555FEB71672013-02-024E0B5348084126.png http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa345/alucard0011/87A25E555FEB71672013-02-024E0B5348084115.png http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa345/alucard0011/87A25E555FEB71672013-02-024E0B5348084332.png http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa345/alucard0011/87A25E555FEB71672013-02-024E0B5348084249.png http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa345/alucard0011/87A25E555FEB71672013-02-024E0B5348084224.png http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa345/alucard0011/87A25E555FEB71672013-02-024E0B5348084216.png I am happy to share the TeamViewer if anyone can guide me through this mess. Can you please tell me what's wrong with the process? Thank you very much in advance for any help.

GoNorthwest has the best How-to https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Submitting_Your_App_To_iTunes_Connect_v1.0.pdf I use it every time I submit an app or an app update.

Thanks. I read that but it tells nothing about the signing and certification process. For example, I don't have the archiving option ON for distribution. That PDF is also not updated.

Do you have a distribution provisioning profile?

Your second screenshot seems to say you do not have a distribution certificate, is that the case?

@Calypso Kid: Yes I create that. @MacApple: The problem is: I create that distribution certificate, but it seems that XCode 4.6 does not find that cert. I have double clicked it already, and confirm that the bundle ID matches the app ID I defined.

Both long name (Bundle ID) and short name (Bundle ID with wildcard, *) do not work. http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa345/alucard0011/87A25E555FEB71672013-02-024E0B5348103510.png Tried restart XCode. Still not work.

When I was having provisioning profile/certificate issues, I follow the steps in this thread from beginning to end with great results. Worth checking it out! http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=10EFDB8B90E3CEA983E9322&status=&searchInput=search...&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=1&doViews=1 Nicholas

You'll want to make sure you 'drop' your provisioning certificates on top of your Xcode 'Organizer' window. Read the post Gracious Wolf put up; it's comprehensive and accurate. Cheers! -- Smug

The guys are right. Certs have caused even the best to pull their hair out, deleting them, adding again, restarting, running round the garden ten times. If you do as the chaps say you should be good to go.

Thanks GraciousWolf and all other helpful responses. By following this guide: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=10EFDB8B90E3CEA983E9322&status=&searchInput=search...&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=1&doViews=1 This guide is NOT updated. There are several options that is not mentioned or unclear in the post. I have left a comment on that thread. I have removed everything about cert and started recreating that. It seems to solve the problem of not finding distribution cert already. However, when I select "Product > Build For > Archiving", it produces 5,248 warnings and no error. I know that warnings do not count so I ignore that. But when I go to "Organizer > Archives", there is nothing there. Can anyone please tell me what's wrong with that? Thank you in advance for any help. Thank you.

Ok. So you have your project finished. Before you go any further, go to Product then clean. There should be no errors or warnings. When its done with the clean, go to Product, Build For then Archiving. When that's done go to Product the. Archive. The. Go to Organizer then Archive and it should be there unless there was an error along the way. Good luck Dave

Hi Calypso Kid. Very appreciate your kind help, I can see that it is in the Archive now. However, I still have questions: What I did: - Before you go any further, go to Product then clean. There should be no errors or warnings. >>> Done. - When its done with the clean, go to Product, Build For then Archiving. >>> Done. 131 issues, all warnings, no error. - When that's done go to Product the. Archive. The. Go to Organizer then Archive and it should be there unless there was an error along the way. >>> I don't understand this part. Do you mean: Product > Archive? Does it mean that it is archived 2 times?

Regarding the 131 warnings, I think all Xcode users have them right now because of the newest version of Xcode. This is a buzztouch thing and they are diligently working on the problem. it happens every time a new version of Xcode comes out. No big deal. Typo sorry- When thats done go to Product THEN Archive, this step sends the archive to the Organizer. THEN go to Window then Organizer (this opens a new window called Organizer) and then select the Archives button at the top center of the Organizer screen. This screen should show your archive. Click one time on the archive to highlight it then click validate on the right side of the screen. This will check to make sure that the file is ready to be submitted to Apple. If there is a problem with it, the problem will be shown here. If there are no problems, then go ahead and click on the distribute button below the validate button and it will be on its way to Apple for review. Once it has been accepted for review, you can monitor the progress by logging in to your itunes connect account Dave

Hi Dave Thank you very much. Now I have submitted my 2 BT apps for review. By the way, so it means we still have to archive 2 times, right? Thanks for your kind help. I am thinking about quitting these XCode thing several times but finally I did it. Will continue to use BT for future apps. Thank you again for all your help.

Yes if you have 2 apps then there should be two archive records. Also, every time you send in an update to Apple, you have to do this again. The new archive records will be added to the Organizer. On the archive screen you can add your own comments under the comments bar for any particular archive. Congratulations on your submittals!!!!! Dont quit, it gets easier every time you do it. 6 months ago I was in the same position as you. I knew nothing about app making or how to deal with Apple. With the help of the Buzztouch community, I was able to get 2 apps published and i am working on my third. Dont be discouraged if Apple finds a problem with your apps. They are notorious for this. Just take what they tell you and try to fix it. (if they reject your app) If you cant figure it out, you know where to go. Just bring it to the forum and there are a bunch of great people here to help you. The one thing that I try to remember is- Have fun Congratulations again on getting this far!! :-) Dave
