Push notifications error.

I've been following the push How-To guide and everything is really easy to implement (thanks Niraj)... but I can't seem to get things to work. After generating my .pem file from the .p12 and then uploading to the Buzztouch Control panel I am greeted with the following error: Invalid File Type. .pem files only. You tried to upload a file named AppFile.pem I have tried converting through the terminal and the online converter here http://p12pem.com/ -- no change in the error. I suspect my problem might relate to step 3 on page 20 of the how to guide posted below. During this step I've been instructed to create a new APP ID but specify a number, not the TEAM ID, for the Bundle Seed. The thing is... I do not have a dropdown menu that will let me select anything. Instead of a dropdown menu the only thing I have in gray writing is: Your Team ID (9xxxxxxxxG) will be used as the App ID Prefix. Any ideas what could be happening here? I've followed the steps closely and ensured there are no passwords associated with the certificate. https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/BuzzTouchiOSPushNotifications.pdf

Hi @Iaxia, I have no experience in this but can the filename "Rinstructor.pem" matter if it's capitalized or not? LA

Thanks, but no luck. Removing capitals doesn't seem to help.

Hi All, I own p12pem.com and It has worked for me on my apps (Both in Development and Production). I have a feeling this is a provisioning portal problem. Is this app already in the App Store? Thanks, Jake

Ah, cool. Thanks the site, great idea. Yes, the app is already published on iTunes.

Ok, have you already generated the p12 certificates from the app ID in The Provisoning Portal? Follow this guide I made: http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/iOS-Push-PEM.pdf Jake

Wow. First, thanks for the help and your guide... but that wasn't the problem! Turns out, if I try and upload a .pem certificate on the Opera browser I get the error described above. Uploading the same certificate using Safari... and no problem, everything works. I don't get it... but I don't mind either. Thanks.

Glad you got it sorted out. Never would have thought about asking "which browser are you using?" !!! Are there any corrections or improvements you noted when following my guide? I'll make updates to it. -- Niraj
