Android Store Listing - where are keywords and what is promo text?

Getting close to submitting first Android app and when in store, I'm looking in the store listing where you put the descriptions, screenshots, etc., and can't find a place for keywords, as in the apple page. I'd like for people to be able to search on keywords for the app. Is there no place for this for Android apps? Also, while I'm at it, what't the difference between promo text and description? Thanks. Steve

No keywords option. The search algorithm is based on package name, title and description. Most discussions I've found suggest the package name and title are most important. I've noticed many old descriptions on google play use keyword stuffing. This practice is now frowned on in their t&c's and can result in account suspension. Description is what's seen on google play. I haven't used promo text, it's used in conjunction with another feature, can't remember which.. it's either the yt video or promo graphic.

You know what I think? I think they search on your 'description' text, if anything... After submitting my app and having it published on Google play, my client called and mentioned that the app (after like, an hour of being published) couldn't be found using the term 'Guam Real Estate'. I changed part of the description text to say 'Guam Real Estate' and about 20 minutes later, it now responds to that search term. I'm now rewriting descriptions to encompass pertinent terms that will be needed, (without, as raveyd mentions, 'keyword stuffing' which is bad juju). Cheers! -- Smug
