alternative to dropbox?

Hello, in my last post, I asked where is the public folder? But now because dropbox wont allow public links, any alternatives to dropbox, that can public links and has a direct page for eg. www.dl.com/yourimage.pdf? thanks

Interesting! I didn't know they had removed the public folders for new users. That's kinda crazy. I did read an article that says you can still use the 'Get link' option. Is that not working for you? Other options to DropBox : Google Drive; SugarSync; Cubby; your personal web server. Mark

I use Amazon S3 for my live app storage and linking. I use Google Drive for my own development use.

DropBox is amazing for development use...keeps my files synced across computers, and backed up to the cloud! I have a couple apps that have content hosted on a web server (not HTML content). You could easily get a free web host for that use. Mark

Dropbox hasn't 'removed' public folders, they're just not there 'by default' anymore. You can still create a public folder in dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/help/16/en Cheers! -- Smug

You can also use the method I suggested in your previous thread, of getting a shared link to the file you need access to, and copying the "download file" link from that file's page.
