Is now a good time to self host?

I am interested in self hosting. With all the changes to BT and all of the changes coming, is now a good time to look into self hosting or should I wait?

Ok I will then. Do you think there will be an updated guide on how to self host? They seem somewhat outdated.

I'd go ahead and install the current version. I say that from an install point of view. If you have any issues, you can have them resolved before the next version comes down. (that said, I thought the self hosting install was fairly easy, if you've ever installed a CMS like Joomla/Wordpress/Drupal) If you haven't built anything of consequence, you can wipe it, and install the latest version once released. Is there going to be a doable upgrade if one does have something of consequence?

I would suggest setting up your self hosting with what is available today, just to understand how it is done, get you host lined up, etc stc. Make a few notes, the second time around will be much faster.

from what I've seen on the webinars is the file system is changing, certain elements are being streamlined. I'm hanging on just in case it starts causing current test apps to crash, remember the current self hosting doesn't have push, it doesn't have live mode. And I've heard it's a lot easier to install
