It worked! :-)

Sorry, I don't usually post things like this, but I am pretty siked! I was able to push a notification to my test device, (Android only). I was very hesitant to tackle this because of all the coding and programming, but it was quite easy. Following some the steps from the document on Google, and going through the steps that AlanMac posted it went pretty smooth. Still not able to test it on my emulator because not sure how to log the emulator into Google, but that is next. Just want to thank everyone, Thanks again, Howard

Is there a quick message saying there is error, either device not on-line or logged into a Google account?

Is this on the emulator or actual test device?

On your test device are you logged into Google Play? I couldn't get it to work on the emulator so I installed it on my actual phone, which is always logged into google play. It asked me If I would allow push notifications and when I chose yes. It registered as a device.

I am not sure if they are the same, but are you logged into your Google Play app on your phone?

Silly question; The answer may be in the documents I haven't read yet ;) Does your app have to be 'published' on Google play before you can push to it? Cheers! -- Smug

P.s. did you get it to work on your emulator and phone, or just one or the other. If you did get it to work on the emulator, do you know how you did it? Thanks, H-

Worked on phone. I wasn't signed in to my google play account. It was signed in under my sons name. The emulator, I just signed in through the browser but still didn't receive the push. LA

Yea, that is where I am. I think you need to be signed into the Google Play App, but it is not on the emulator to sign into. H-

I've seen PUSH work on the Android emulator for PARSE. I don't know about all of the new GCM code, looking into it today myself. I'm surprised that you have to be signed into Gmail to get a PN on Android.....
