Xcode provisioning

I thought it would be easy but still getting errors when I try to add my iPhone to my Mac and download the provisioned certificate and code etc to my iPhone to try my App on a real IOS device rather than simulator. I have the the right digital certificate, Apple Developer approved etc...all seems well but when I run the Xcode project it displays an error " CodeSign error: code signing is required for product type "Application" in SDK iOS 6". All works fine when I run the project on the IOS iPhone 6 simulator. Any ideas as I am stuck...? Thanks David

Have you applied the correct code signing provisioning profile in the build settings before you run it on the device?

I had some luck recently deleting my Developer certificate and starting from scratch. Turns out the keys were on my old computer. I didn't have access to them. So I deleted everything (keys, certs, etc.) I could in my provisioning portal, then ran the provisioning assistant. Edit: This could cause problems if you have apps in the store already. So be careful!

Glad to see more British people out on the Buzztouch community. Generally, I find that doodling about with the certificates will get you there eventually. I mean, you will get there. However, this is time consuming. I'm finding the same problems, but to publish the app. However, when I am totally stuck, I refer to this forum thread below. I don't like using it, because it involves Revoking the certificates, which is inconvenient if you already have apps published. http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=10EFDB8B90E3CEA983E9322&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=9

When you hook a device up while running xcode it should ask if you want to use it as a development device and xcode should auto provision it to work for you.

Just to let you all know - it worked. Now have my first client app working on my iPhone. If I want to provision it on another device e.g. an iPad do I just add another "device" in provisioning portal and then go through same procedure? I assume so. Thanks David
