Need List of Requirements for iOS6 Submissions

Hello, So, I suspect this has been discussed in another thread, but I did a Google search and couldn't find what I'm looking for. Plus, I like nice bulleted lists when it comes to requirements, so I'm hoping somebody can help out! I have a couple apps that I'd like to update to support iOS6. I'm not able to run that SDK on my Mac mini, so I may be hitting some of you up for compiling...but we'll save that for later! With the new iPhone 5 screen sizes, and the new features of iOS6, I'm wondering what's new that I need to make sure I have prepared before I compile my app, and when I go to update it in the store. If somebody could whip up a list of the new stuff required, I'd much appreciate it! Thanks, Mark

I can't make any 'definitive' lists just yet, but I can contribute. I'm running the latest, but I still compile for iOS v5.1.1, because that is as high my iPad 1G is allowed. So far with respect to compiling with the new software for an older device, I don't have issues. You need an additional 'launch' image distinctly for the new screen. It has a name of '[email protected]' and the size is 640 x 1136 (vs 960). I'll add more as they hit me, but other than a 5" screen, I'm not 'that' aware of many changes. Cheers! -- Smug

No list to give you but I can compile your BTv1.5 or 2.0 to iOS 6.0, iPhone 5 (setting up all images to display in their correct format regardless of resolution), and Xcode 4.5. This takes only about 30 minutes. Thanks ~ Parse SDK seems to work 100%

Thanks for the compile offer! I'll keep you in mind for when the time comes. Not asking for reasons to update my app, just making sure I understand all the new requirements that come with iOS 6 and iPhone 5. Been spending so much time helping people on Android lately that I've not kept up with iOS. Plus, my system is stuck at Xcode 4.2 and Snow Leopard, and the changes that David made for iOS6 cause compilation errors. I'd like to get a version of my app out that supports iOS6 so I can take advantage of anything new that might come along. And, it'll address the code errors I see (which I have a workaround for, but would rather just do it the right way). Mark

I'm on Xcode 4.5 and mac os X 10.7.5 I'm working to an update after the new BT release and I'm not getting any error when compiling. I've some issues with scringo and facebook though but I feel they're related to scringo.

When I updated I noticed that my splash screen no longer extended to the bottom of the iPhone 5's screen. If you use one, make sure you adjust the size of the splash screen accordingly.

Hello Mark, As I had asked David Book at the beginning of this week's Q&A session, "why am I getting 50+ warnings when targeting iOS 6?" He acknowledged that the warnings are valid and caused by the upcoming deprecations. Thus, your checklist should also account for checking and elimination of the Warnings. After taking care of the depredations via #IFDEF statements or other techniques, only then will you be able to concentrate on your App-specific warnings and errors. I have a Lion and a Mt. Lion Mac and current version of Xcode. I too can do compiles and troubleshooting for you. We strive to keep our BT Pioneers in the groove! :-) -- Niraj
