Cannot Believe This!

My app just got approved! In less than one month, I have gone from knowing absolutely NOTHING about app creation to having an app in the iTunes store, and I couldn't have done without BT! If you need a testimonial, I'm your gal! Here's the link. It's free. It's a companion app for The Lewis Trilogy of books (thrillers set in Scotland - best sellers in UK and just coming out in US). <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=593841625&mt=8" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=593841625&mt=8</a> By app standards it's probably pretty basic, but I can't tell you how excited I am that buzztouch enabled me to do this. Anyway, it's v1.0, I can always get more sophisticated from here onwards. Now I have to go and conquer Eclipse and the Android version. But I wanted to say "Thankyou". Really.

Bravo bravo, I'll never forget the feeling you're going through. I think all of us can remember at least that first celebration when we finally go something done, approved, and in the store. Whoo hoo. Welcome to the club :-)

Well done @jhally, congratulations! A lot of developers can learn from you. Their tendency is to try and delivery the "cadillac" version with v1.0 (I'm certainly guilty of this) which can extend a project timeline unnecessarily and sometime even kill it before it has been realized. Focus on making it a great user experience without all the "bells-and-whistles", get it out for people to see it, use it and hopeful give you great feedback, then improve on it with subsequent releases.

Thanks everyone for understanding my excitement even though it's old hat to you all! @David - if someone as resistent as I am to learning about code can get through the development and submission process, then all the credit has to go to buzztouch. It simply would NOT have been possible for me otherwise! Yep, @285solutions, it's baby steps. I'm delighted to get a basic app up and running and to use it as the foundation for getting more adventurous as I learn more. :)

Hearty congrats on this great achievement!! Yes the first release is one of the most memorable moment which anyone can not forget. Today i have about 46 live apps on Google Play but i can never forget the feeling and sense of achievement when my first app went live. BT gang specially David made it possible to allow us non-coders to create amazing apps and also made us to learn new things (coding languages) of which we had no idea that we would learn ever in our life. We all wish you the best and also wish to see some great apps from you in coming days. All the best.

Hi @jhally, Congratulations! What an awesome accomplishment! You can now officially call yourself a developer! Android is another beast for sure. There is tons of information in the How-To section on setting up your environment, and I have some tutorial videos at http://www.youtube.com/GoNorthWest. If you run into any problems, let me know! Very well done @JHally! Just downloaded the app and sent in a review. All authors should have an app like this!! I definitely want to read this trilogy now! Wow! What a story! I think you deserve a wee dram of whisky (or two) for a job well done :-) Go for Android now… you know you can do it!!!!

I'm glad you're all so confident I'll manage with the Android version!! @GoNorthWest, I'll certainly be checking out your video tutorials. ...and @Dervalo thanks! I'm glad you liked the app! I'm hoping to add more stuff. You know when you buy a the DVD version of a movie and you get all these behind-the-scenes "extras"... I want the app to be a bit like that. Peter takes his research really seriously, and there's always video and other stuff that would be interesting to people that like the books. He has a series set in China and a series set in France that are crying out for apps to go with them. So... now, off to explore Eclipse...
