I found this odd. I do my Android Testing on my Galaxy Tablet (not a phone) and my iOS testing on a iPhone 3GS/iPad 1st Gen. In my app, I have a page that displays HTML. On the HTML there is a directory of phone numbers listed in <DT>/<DD> format. The link is similar to: <a href="tel:6716461234">646-1234</a> which works fine on the iPhone, but I've discovered recently it doesn't work on the Android. What method does? Preferably what works for both? (I suppose I could setup a screen full of dialers, but...) Cheers! -- Smug

It doesn't seem to work on my wife's Samsung Galaxy Nexus (ICS 4.1.1)... I can't remember the exact error, but it gave me the indication it didn't know what I was talking about... She's at work so I can't play with it at the moment... Cheers! -- Smug

Gotcha. I usually get no option on my nexus 7 but do on my RAZR maxx.

@smugwimp is it possible that having a number as the anchor text is confusing the phone just a thought. When using "tel:" on websites I always either have it as the anchor for a button image or use "Call Us" as the anchor text never the number. Mostly to avoid confusion for the end users and encourage them to use the link rather than remembering the number and using the phone dialer manually. Just a thought..
