Push Notifications

Hi, Is it possible to send a push notification for those who downloaded an app via buzztouch to ask them to rate it? I want to update the app (which was created by the previous version of buzztouch and would be good to see the opinion of those who downloaded the app. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks very much, Samira

Push notification code needs to be added to an app before you release it to the app store, in conjunction with a company that allows you to create and send push notifications (a lot of people here use parse.com). If you haven't done that, then the answer is sorry, no.

Hey @Samira, Buzztouch is rolling out push notifications soon for members. You can send your clients a simple text asking them to rate it. LA

@chris1, @Calypso kid and @LA, you are all correct, but this would require Samira to build a new version of the app, which doesn't help with the problem at hand, only because the question posted by Samira is about an existing app, already in the app store. Alan

She said she wanted to update the app, which would imply a new version.

I could be wrong, but I understood the question is can you send a push to existing users, get feedback and use that as input to then build a new version. But I'm sure Samira will pop back and let us know! All good fun!

Thanks everyone for the helpful information. Alan is right, I was hoping there will be a way that I can ask the current users their opinion before I update the new version (so I could take their feedback into account in the new version). @ LA how can I send a text to everyone who is using it? Thanks again for all your help. I appreciate it a lot :-). Samira

Hi @Samira, If you want the push notifications to go out to current users, without doing an update, then the BT push won't work. Since it has not been introduced yet and it should be soon, then it would only be to new Apps. When it does get introduced, then if your a member, which I totally recommend, then you can send a text push of your liking. Hope this helps some. LA

If your app has custom html screens then the easiest way to notify your users is to add a banner on some screens editing your html doc. This is the only way you can interact with your current users and ask them to give their opinion.

You could also create a menu screen with options for feedback and set it to your home screen, with linked screens going back to main app.

Put up a splash screen asking for input and then add chris's idea Ryan
