xml editor? Does it exist???

I have been avoiding the android version of my app like the plague. Just seeing the eclipse icon makes me angry. I don't know about everyone else but developing for apple seems SOOOOO much easier. Is an xml file similar to a xib file? Is there a xml editor out there that would let me do what I can do with xib files in xcode? You know, drag on some buttons, rearrange them, maybe set up some calculations??? I've done all this for the iOS version of my app and feel compelled to do it for the android one as well. Any suggestions? Other than just pay someone else to do it?? Thanks, Josh android-hater

whoah. Just found some sort of xml editor in eclipse itself. And, as I suspected, it looks awful. This isn't going to be fun...

An icon makes you angry? Best stick to iPhone then!

Naw -- he may be referring to the same reaction that David Book had on a recent Webinar on how long it takes Eclipse to launch. All smiles, -- Niraj

There are XML editors out there, but I genuinely get about as much out of a decent text editor. For XML on the Mac, I use "TextWrangler", as do many. On the PC, I prefer "Notepad++". Both are free. As you get more acquainted, you'll find XML to be pretty easy, actually. It's just a different approach. It pretty much spells out the dimensions of your interface; you just have to get used to the nomenclature. Stick with it... It'll make sense sooner than you think! Cheers! -- Smug

agreed- Notepad ++ and Text Wrangler Probably 2 of the programs I use the most. Notepad++ allows you to change the 'language' of the file and does a nice job of highlighting code. Key for pairing XML elements when analyzing files. They are my favorite HTML editors too. I have used this too to study XML files, does schema and a nice tree view: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7973
