image url not working for me - background + splash page

Hi, Looking for help! (obviously!!) My app is full of images that are packaged inside, but now I want to change some images, without resubmitting, so I've tried: 1. removing the image name and putting a new image URL in the Url spot instead -> All this does for me is removes the existing image, the image from the URL is not displayed... I don't know if I'm putting the url in correctly? this is an example -> https://www.dropbox.com/s/os3aqs5fffn0vb4/Screen%20Shot%202013-01-17%20at%205.21.35%20PM.png Thanks in advance! Wendy ;]

Hey Wendy, Can you open the image on your computer's browser? The screenshot looks like it 'should' work... I have heard some folks complain about the 'https' on the dropbox url... you might try changing it to plain old 'http'... and make sure you're using the Dropbox "Public URL" for the resource you're trying to use. Hope this helps! Cheers! -- Smug

Thanks Smug, Yes, I wondered if it was the https, but I've also tried images from other locations (like my blog), with no joy... sigh... thanks though

If it removes the existing image, it 'must' be catching the update of the config file. Can you confirm the correct URL in the config file (in your control panel) is there? And you can view this same image using your computer browser? how about via your device browser? Cheers! -- Smug

Windy I have had problems with Dropbox code that contains spaces. The code come out with %20 instead of _ . Try using the short code option Dropbox offers or rename file with _ instead of space. Good luck. Mike

Agree. Dropbox is not the best. I use photobucket for images. Works fine
