reverse quiz plugin?

Hi all, I'm new to the app world and not code-savvy! We have one iPhone app in the app store now, one in the works elsewhere, and I'm thinking of using BT to work on some other ideas. The question I'm hoping someone can help me with is, would it be possible to use the quiz plugin kind of in reverse order? By that I mean in our app we'd like to have the user be able to type or speak in a text box on one screen (text won't be kept- it doesn't matter what it says, just a way for someone to vent), tap a button and be given a random "answer" on the next screen. (And your advice on the best method of keeping the "answers" would be helpful too- it would be a set list.) Basically the app provides the user with an instant affirmation when they're upset about something- being stuck in traffic, angry at a family member, etc. Stress relief when the app lets them know they're understood and things will be fine. =) Thanks for any help! BTW this is just for iOS for now.

you asked "would it be possible". Yes, anything is possible with the right coding. Im sure someone here can help you towards the right direction. Goodluck!

This would be relatively simple. One screen with a textfield with a submit button. Submit button pops up another view showing a random affirmation. Affirmations would be stored in an array. Only ting that worries me about these types of apps "I wanna kill my mum she's doing my f@W$%£^% head in" reply "Everyday you should try to do something different, that makes you happy" (a personal favourite affirmation) Then kills mum!!!!

Kittsy, thanks so much! And you're right- we'll have to be sure the responses aren't going to instigate something really awful...

This sounds similar to the magic 8 ball! Good idea.

You could add a shake feature.

make it too similar to the magic 8 ball and prepare to be sued lol. I think someone already mentioned this in another thread about 8 ball type apps

Good ideas- thanks for the info- think it's too risky being so close in nature to magic 8 ball? And please excuse my not knowing anything at all... Kittsy is there a plugin with BT I would use to carry out your suggestion of the textfield screen/submit button?

No it would have to be custom plugin. It's also specialist there probably wouldn't be much call for it on a big scale. You would need to make it yourself or get someone to make it for you.

I was thinking off turning my "8 ball" type screen that I made into a Plugin. This could at least be a useful feature instead of a quiz to get thru the app store process. Keep you posted:)

I would leverage BuzzTouch by using a Screen as the holder of the possible answers. That way, the set of answers can easily be updated without having to re-publish the App into Apple's App Store. The custom plugin could then randomly choose from the Screen's menu list. Of course, the Screen would never be displayed as a Menu List. It's just a way of holding the data and being able to make changes, even after the App has been released. -- Niraj

Thanks, @niraj! I was even thinking, to make this first one even simpler, that the home screen menu rows can be categories (like work, family, driving, etc.) and each row can just correspond to a next screen with one response/affirmation pertaining to that category... The next screens could be HTML/text and I could change them often. What do you all think?

Yup, i like your simplicity of atayong with what is in the box. The Answer could be written using the simple WYSIWYG editor for HTML Content in BuzzTouch Control Panel. No coding would then be required.
