Hi guys, a few Buzztouchers (sounds wrong) have brought to my attention that Aurasma is changing it's pricing policy. Although we believe that making your app is still free, can we please make sure that you are accepted as an Aurasma Partner before purchasing the Aurasma plugin. For skinned apps (thats apps that they design and brand for you) are going from free to $5000 (yes 5 grand) now considering we can build an exact replica of their skinned app, I think some of you guys could make a killing. Thanks @Kittsy, I have signed up not five minutes ago. Can't wait to start using your plugin! It's funny they say anything about pricing before you sign up. Anyone out there has examples of AUrasma integrated in a Buzztouch app?

I have implemented to my unpublished app but not yet submitted to appstore. I can say that it is working great with ipad2 and new generation and iphone3 and iphone5, all tested.

I received partner approval yesterday and no charge was mentioned in their email. But I enter in my Aurasma studio and there's no "Make your own app" button, as I understood this would give me access to download the kernell files. This is the confirmation email I received yesterday: -------------------------------- Thank you for registering to become a partner with Aurasma! Your application has now been approved and an account has been created for you within the Aurasma Studio. I received further info from Aurasma, I asked now if existing accounts and apps will be affected also: ------------------ Currently upgrades are free, but please note that from the end of the month we will be charging for new skinned apps ($5000 per app) and for the level of Aurasma Studio account needed to request them or the Aurasma kernel - which is a "Pro" Account costing $499 per month. Alternatively, creating Auras and distributing them through a public Channel on Aurasma is completely free, as long as the Auras are non-commercial. However, we will be charging for accounts which are used to make commercial Auras. The lowest level of account for this will be $19 per month. --------------------

Bummer. I wonder what the features of the entry level plans are. Any more details available? I'd hope for at least one App implementation to be a available for a portfolio app at no charge.

As far as I understand, they only give access to Studio where you do not have "make your own app" option. In order to get SDK kernel, you need to register with a different form than it is on live now. I guess they changed that. I have the free access to that as @Kittsy, but even grandfathered ones might have some problems with the new skin with their new changes. http://www-cdn.aurasma.com/wp-content/uploads/Aurasma-Partner-Guidelines.pdf After page43, it is the section about SDK Kernel, etc...

So I've just been exploring this. I created an account and do not have the make an app button. I don't see anywhere to upgrade and no place where I can find any kind of pricing information. I really am interested in this plugin but it doesn't seem like I am going to be able to use it? Maybe?

Some have emailed Aurasma about the kernel, see how you get on.

@mitchellapps I had the same problem, you just need send an email to Aurasma that they will activate the "Account management" and "Make your own app" buttons in your account.

Further info from Aurasma, I understood that if you are ok with the actual design that Kittsy's Aurasma plugin delivers and you get the Aurasma kernell before the end of this month you won't be charged. my question to Aurasma: "About the new plans, if I create my app using the kernell today upgrading my plan will I also be charged begging next month? Or is it only for new accounts upgrades and new apps using the kernel? And what about creating new Auras, will also be charged for existing accounts?" Aurasma answer: "To update the kernel to the “new look” kernel we will soon release will involve signing up for a $499/month account."

Laughing set up 40 apps now call them 5874ertvhyy4566 random, thne use them when you need them.

I may be completely wrong but it really doesn't seem like they have anywhere near the traction that can command $500 a month to request kernels. Seems like they are just milking the big clients like Universal Studios or Marvel or US postal service. Hi Kittsy, I just messaged you but I'm new to Buzztouch and unsure if you will get it or not. If I'm already a partner, but not a commercial partner (so the make an app button is not currently in my studio) is it worth my time to purchase the plugin or do I absolutely need the commercial account so I can get the kernel. Is there any alternative to get the same "aura" type function without the price tag of $499 a month??? ANY help you can give me would be absolutely incredible. Thanks!
